Radar showing us that the cold front that weve been following all morning for you, did bring isolated rain and light shower activity is moving very quickly off to the new jersey coast. And we are drying out just beautifully. We still have some cloud cover around in the viewing area. The skies are clearing. That will be the trend for us as wf monday our afternoon hours. All morning long, we have been inspired by family and friends who have come out to support survivors as well as those still battling cancer. Let me show what you is going on over my shoulder right now. Everywhere you look, a sea of pink. This a rain or shine event. Despite the down pour, the enthusiasm of these participants brought the return of sunshine. All over here and up the steps of the art museum you see pink in alls. This is the 26th year for the race. We have video of other races we collected in the past couple years. And we recently met one woman who brought dozens from her church. She told us, they shut down services at st. Paul Chapel Baptist Church in south philadelphia for this magnificent woman for just a few hours. She told us she isnt fighting breast cancer, but the disease attacked her body. They changed my medicine so im staurting all over again. But you had enough to come out here again. Im going to stay strong. I have to keep moving and keep moving. I know one day there will be a cure forrer. And were all believing in prayer with her as well. This group of folks is the second wave of people that are participating in the race for the cure. Once they get down around the bend, theyre being separated from walkers versus runners. At the rate were going, folks are going to be out here all day long raising money, hoping for a cure. Medics took the victims to the hospital and we learned not too long ago that man is in critical but stable condition. The woman is in stable condition. Police are investigating a possible homicide. A woman was found dead inside a vacancy home just before 2. 306789 yesterday afternoon. Police found out about the body after they stopped a person on the street that person gave them the tip to check out the home. Police say it appears the victim suffered head trauma. Jesus melendez and a friend ran aground on their jet ski in the Delaware River. Youre looking at video from the scene last night. Heres the deal. A crew from a nearby ship ended up rescuing melendezs friend. The coast guard was then called n their boat and helicopter crew searched for melendez until 10 00 last night. Imagine that. Right . We just came out of a very unsettled weather pattern last week. Were going back into in this coming week as you can see here in the seven day forecast at the bottom of your screen. We get a bit of a reprieve later today, tonight, and the start of our next work week starting tomorrow morning. So we should stay dry for a good portion of that time frame. Future cast showing us that we will start out tomorrow morning and then we get to the evening hours. So tomorrow, it really should be dry and mainly clear. Clouds will come in later on in the day. This is showing us the clouds are moving in from the south. So by tomorrow evening, heavy cloud cover is expected. And then this particular model showing us that at 6 00 a. M. Tuesday morning, the commute could be a little soggy as we get these isolated showers moving into the area monday night into Tuesday Morning. And thats the system we showed you there on radar. That is out in central part of the country. Some shower activity to the north up here in the Lehigh Valley in wiallentown. More showers to the west tuesday night at 10 00. They will join hundreds environment other schools for a minithon coming up. Joining me are my guests with more on the event. Youre seniors. Youre graduating in a few weeks. Yeah, penn state does a tremendously well and the fact that so many schools across pennsylvania are doing this, imagine if every state school and every state in the country and all the high schools and middle schools the same thing, how much impact it would have on childhooder. Tell us specifically how much youre looking to raise, exactly where it goes. Were looking to raise 20,000 this year. Last year our goal was 11,000. We eraised 18,799. Hopefully we can surpass our goal this year. It goes to help research, pay bills for families fighting Childhood Cancer and to the hospital its. Tell us why you two decided youre going to graduate in a couple weeks, thor is almost here. Why did you decide to get involved in sort of help to organize this mini thon at your school . I just think its such a great cause. We raise so much money and its a fun way to do good in the community. I think we have pictures from last years event and previous events and some of the students who have gotten involved. Its really an inspire time for everybody to come together. Yeah, its really important i think for us as a generation to do something about cancer and this girl is erin in school now. She was fighting cancer. She currently beat it. Wow. Were really proud of her. And this is another person, the girl graduated in 2014 and her little brother had cancer as well. They do a lot of work to help us with the mini thon. So for you this is an effort to help people you know, people who are directly affected by it and people you see every day at school. Yeah. I think its crazy our school is so small, we only have 2 p 70 people, and the nakt will are so many people affected by Childhood Cancer, it makes us want to do so much more.
