And how in both of the mass shootings here in Florida the polls and I club and this one in Parkland and the f.b.i. Done their damn job we don't have these stories we're not having this conversation there are 49 people in Orlando that still be alive today there were 17 people in Portland that still be alive today. And yet we see that there's more frustration being directed at a r 15 being directed at the president being directed at Republican politicians in Florida then at the perp Nicholas Cruz at the f.b.i. So that's something else that you should not just let go of and thankfully they have a noon isn't at this point either Now there's something else that I wanted to mention in this is something that you probably haven't heard we now have a annual report from none other than the folks at Ice Now remember President made a series of promises including in addition to building the wall enforcing the southern border and immigration policy generally Now remember one of the promises that he made is that hey we're going to start with those that are already printed holes on top of being here illegally so the criminals on top of being criminals and here we are we're under 2 weeks away from the docket deadline March 5th and you have all those debates and conversations about a doc affixed to comprehensive reform being debated in Congress simulate going nowhere by the way but we do now have the ice annual report to see what happened in $27.00 saying so what's real what was political noise here the facts last year 74 percent of all ice or Rice had previous criminal records and additional 11 percent had pending charges and cases in the legal system so that's 85 percent that either were criminals on record and another 11 or the folks who are pending it only 11 percent had absolutely no prior legal history they were detained so when the president claimed that the priority was to identify and act against a known offenders Well guess what. That's what they did now is that being reported no course not right probably the 1st time you've heard anything about this the information's been out there I mean just happened to go into the ice annual report now based on the facts from the 1st year we know what the focus was what the president said we already know that we have criminals out there that are only documented because they're criminals they were here illegally so let's deal with them what was the total count last year the arrests made by ice $143400.00 in 70 arrests What is that look like in context there was a 30 percent increase in arrest made by ice over $26.00 thing so we did see the ramping up as promised and the target being that those that already had criminal records Now here's the next piece of the story you've heard the president say hey we are understaffed we need to ramp up I guess why here is another important detail to this while 143000 arrests were made by ice last year which is a 30 percent increase guess what it is while well below where we were even a handful of years ago. During the Obama administration when President Obama 1st came into office I saw rest in 2009 where a shade under 300000 we had a right at 290000 arrests made 2009 and the time he was done 2016 and last year in office 110000 a 63 percent decline in overall ice arrest so what we saw is it wasn't just rhetoric we saw that President Obama took the emphasis off.
