Cologuard is equivalent to colonoscopy in terms of detecting it early stage cancer. To put it in perspective, 100,000 tests would have reporter but not all gastroenterologists think the test is accurate enough. One out of five people are going to get wrong answer when they do that test. Reporter sarah has been through 71 rounds of chemotherapy. She says its a battle she doesnt want anyone else to share. You could prevent going through everything i have been through by taking one day out of your life to take a take home test or to go get a colonoscopy. Reporter while cologuard is easier than a colonoscopy, the drawback is if the test does suggest a problem then you may still need a colonoscopy and if it misses a cancer then that could be a problem of course. The test costs about 600 and is covered by some insurance plans. Even though its not perfect, doctors say almost anything that increases people getting screened for colon cancer is good. Exactly.
