Kelly pillco was found safe in harlem this afternoon. She is on the way home. She never made it to school. Police say she took a cab from Spring Valley to the city. A Business Owner in manhattan found her daughter wandering on the streets, looked lost. They kept her. Police are still trying to figure out why pillico went to the city and who paid for the cab and the what to know if the School District has been notified. A telephone pole hit a car trapping a woman inside. Cbs 2s dick brennan live at the scene in wayne with more dick. Reporter it was quite a crash maurice. We can tell you this happened around noon. Crews are at work to restore power to the few stores that are affected and to get some lanes back open. Police are telling us this was caused by someone who was driving under the influence. It was a wild crash that triggered a dangerous Chain Reaction crash on the road in wayne. One car hit a pole and it was sent into the road filled with traffic. The pole came crashing in front of my car. Reporter she was in the center lane and was terrified to see not only the telephone pole but power lines draping over her car. Electrical things were flying everywhere. It was crazy it landed on my car. Other drivers came over. Passersby told her to stay where she was wisely because the live wires on the vehicle. Reporter but as if things couldnt get worse, then the once again, she couldnt move and hoped the fire would be put out quickly. Somebody came along quick enough and they were able to put the fire out before the car blew up. They were so great, there so fast. Reporter she waited for pseg to cut power to the lines and finally she was able to get out. But her car wasnt the only one hit in the crash. The wires also came down from the other side of the highway and struck another vehicle that was going southbound. That driver was forced to stop. Reporter crews moved quickly to try to clear the roadway in time for the afternoon rush. Sinclair, who right before the accident was just getting new airbags in her car, came out without any injuries except for some frayed nerves. Im still in one piece. Thank god. And they have to put a wire across route 23 that would require the road to be shut getting that done soon enough. Once again, one person is under arrest charged with driving under the influence. The truck was carrying flammable material when it flipped, shutting down the somerset circumstance until raritan at 7 a. M. Where routes 202, 206 and 28 come together. Somerset circle is now back open. The accident forced the temporary evacuation of a nearby hotel and businesses as hazmat teams cleaned up the debris. New at 5 00 now an nypd officer who work as an instructor at the Police Academy has been placed on modified duty. Officer Melissa Brown was stripped of her gun, badge and reassigned for conducting insufficient cpr training. Brown instructed officer peter liang, who was convicted in the november 2014 shooting death of akai gurley. During last months trial, administer cpr to gurley because he was not properly trained at the academy. Following his testimony, Police Commissioner bill bratton ordered an investigation into the training. A new jersey state trooper died this morning after he was hit by a car. Authorities say 31yearold trooper sean cullen responded to an accident last night on i 295 in deptford township. As he walked near the crash he was hit. The driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed. An accused killer in court now indicted by a Westchester County grand jury in a brutal stabbing in scarsdale in january. There is outrage tonight over organization to block a charity stair climb at one World Trade Center in honor of those who died on 9 11. Cbs 2 political reporter Marcia Kramer says Governor Cuomo is trying to mediate a solution. Reporter the one World Trade Center stair climb in honor of 9 11 responders and their families was a huge success last year some 1,000 people climbing 90 stories at the iconic building to raise money to build hightech homes for soldiers injured in iraq and afghanistan. Its a celebration of everybodys life and we want this to be a celebration of the sacrifice that was made that day. Reporter frank siller the head of the tunnel to Towers Foundation which sponsors the stair climb furious it the Durst Organization one World Trade Centers landlord for putting the kabosh on this years event. They want to get so far away from what happened on 9 11 that last year they didnt even want to us have pictures in the staircases of firefighters of Police Officers that died. He stayed behind in the north tower to help a man in a wheelchair and a friend. The tower collapsed before he could get them out. Michael burke is his brother. Reporter the Durst Organization said it didnt want to green light the run because the security requirement of one World Trade Center makes stair climb extraordinarily challenging. Firefighters responded to a call of an adult who had fallen and discovered high levels of Carbon Monoxide. The victims including two children are being treated in hyperbaric chambers at the hospital. There were no Carbon Monoxide detectors in the house. Spring is in the air and soon the rich and famous will flock to long islands east end. But along with the tourists and now another town is trying to curb that flood. Cbs 2s Carolyn Gusoff reports from southampton. Reporter from the uber drivers seat long islands east end doesnt seem very friendly. First east hampton rolled up the welcome mat. Now southamptons proposing regulations which operators say will drive them away. Saying no technology, saying no safety. Reporter the proposal requires uber to follow the rules of all taxis here to register, pay 1,000 for per car fingerprinting and background checks. Officials say they dont want to put the brakes on uber like east hampton did last year with its residency requirement. We dont want people drinking and driving so, you know, its a model that could work out here. We dont want to create an unfair advantage for uber which they currently have. So clearly, we are expecting to set a record. That would be like late may that 74degree temperature. So its going to be incredibly mild. Now, it will feel like spring tomorrow. It felt like spring today but we are still doing the countdown. 12 days officially until the start of spring. But with these temperatures, 74 degrees is what we are expecting for your wednesday. Reporter yes, despite his stage four incurable lung cancer and chemotherapy, dave clark has been busy mountain climbing Five Mountains in the last three months. Summit in the adirondacks. He hopes to go up all the feats of the adirondacks putting him in the 46 club. How are you physically able to do this . I dont want to die. Thats as frank as i can put it. I dont want to diet yet. Reporter dave says he has always been in vigorously good shape before his illness a mountain climber for 20 years. We look at thiss bonus every day were together, its a bonus.
