Right now many are hoping a 7 month old baby and the woman who was watching him will manage to survive a horrific crash that killed the driver. Police say they think drugs may be to blame. A witness saw the baby thrown 30 feet in the air from the vehicle. They ran over to him. Feared what they would find. Picked him up. And he started crying in his arms. That baby and another woman are at last check in Critical Condition after being thrown from the mangled car that crashed here on i275 near 471. That crash killed michael gilliam. Who was just a few weeks shy of his 48th birthday. A fourth person in the car is expected to survive. Police say the driver. Who they believe was gilliam. Simply lost control. Went off the right side of the interstate and rolled the car. Officers say they found needles inside so they believe drugs are behind what happened. We reached out to the brother of michael. He says michael has had addiction issues in the past. But hes not sure if he was on heroin. But can understand why its tearing apart families and communities.
