And the way that the rules are the customer owns the car well they have to authorize us to remove the transmission and tear it down and then of course they have an adjuster come in and he looks at you know the defective parts and the transmission and then they go ahead and they get the estimate together and then they can go ahead and authorize us to do the repairs on it well it was the conversation with this adjuster just about floored me and you know. In being an owner of an automotive repair shop you know my thing is is that you know I've got to try to make our service or our repair as affordable as possible for you know somebody want to get their car fixed you know you never want to be in a situation where you're the guy on the block you know so he want to you want to be as fair as you can with people and you know and I can't name names but when he set there this adjuster which works where all these insurance companies you know they're they're pretty much freelance and he sitting there tell me what some of these dealers are now charging folks to do customer pay repairs on their car I am sitting there and I mean good gosh I guess the best way to say it I'm walking around like Fred Sanford you know I'm coming to see Lizabeth I'm like my goodness I don't like some of these repair shops these dealer repair dealership ships or service departments are over $200.00 an hour I'm sitting here going oh my gosh I thought we were high and we're half the price you know I'm sitting here going you know I'm like the only time we've ever made a labor adjustment has been when you know insurance is go up you know your garage lab building and your workers' comp and you're sitting there going Well you know if I don't raise an. Elaborate a little bit you know we're not going be able to stay in business you know but for somebody to be almost $100.00 more an hour or hour you're sitting there and you're just like holy cow how could anybody afford to get their car fixed in a situation like that but you know the bottom line is is you know if you are in a situation where you got your car to a dealer you always take and they're not all of a sudden surprise your car's an honored a warranty anymore and when you get an estimate on some of these repairs I mean things like a radiator that you can get done. Well more experienced technicians then what you will find in a dealership Anyway if anything an independent should probably be charging $100.00 more than that in the dealerships but that's not the case but always go and make a few phone calls and get you some estimates and find out if so if you can do a little better in the aftermarket then of course at a dealers service department I know they've got huge overhead and I know that's what triggers everything but you know poor consumer is getting it's going to get to the point where. If that was the case I'd almost have to look at it to see what is leaking lot of times between where the the actual motor is and the pump that it drives a lot of times well actually there's a seal in there it's an oil seal and over a period of time that seal will get hard and it'll start leaking and when it does a lot of that stuff be honest we you can take it apart and you can find the seal that is leaking on it and replace just it if you can get a number off of the seal itself if there's no number on the seal sometimes that makes it pretty challenging to find a seal for it because to my knowledge I don't think Chrysler sells that individual a new Chrysler actually did not make the pump and rams for that convertible top they've they've had it manufactured from another. Ender And so when you start going down the line you start looking for a seal it's like oh no. Nobody makes it nobody listen and that's what'll happen in a lot of cases and I'm the 1st one that will jump right into the middle of something like it take it apart and see what you know was going on with it but in your case worst case scenario the seal is not available you know for the pump motor work goes into the pump if it's not available you know there's other ways out there I mean they make an aftermarket ram and pump motor assembly you know just for that car and we've installed several of them over the years so it's not like it's the end of the world if you can't keep hydraulic fluid in it but when you say it's leaking you can actually see it leaking at the pump motor itself. It leaks statically overnight and I had to say. The people I bought it from claimed they put brand new actuators and rebuilt actuators the Rams. Yeah they actuators for the hydraulic top but the appear
