Take a look as the sun begins to rise on this monday morning. Things are a lot more calm, few days can still be felt. It was a busy night for police. Mpd tweeted just after 2 that they were restoring peace in the area of sherman park. Milwaukee Police Responded to at least 4 incidents of shots fired overnight. Poluce used Armored Vehicles who was hit by gun fire. That persons condition is unknown that this point. We saw mpd tweet that protesters were throwing bricks, rocks and glass bottles at them and their patrol cars. We know that a number of people were arrested by police last night. Our cameras captured some of those arrest. Police have not told us how many people are in custody. We are hoping to get some sort of update from police this morning. One day after the Police Involved shooting that sparked all of this unrest syville smiths sisters say they believe their brother deserves justice. Last nights candlelight vigil happened at 44th and auer the place where the 23 yearold was shot by police in the midst of a chase. Afterwards, people marched along the streets in protest of the shooting. Smiths two sisters spoke to media. They appeared emotional and angry. His older sister said violence is not the way to solve societys problems. His younger sister is still coming to grips with the loss. Protector, somebody thats supposed to be there for me. Yall lost facebook friends, a status, maybe a like at the club. I lost my brother, i cant get him back back smiths sister maintain he was not a violent personthey say he quote messed up, like everybody else.
