Our other big story this afternoon. Its been one week since the murder of a woman in the normally quiet town of oconomowoc and police still havent caputred her killer. Killer. Cbs 58s eric levy is learning more about the victim and spoke to police about the search for the suspect. Suspect. Eric joins us now live with the new details. Eric. Bill marshanna because oconomowoc could only put two fulltime detectives on this case, additional assistance was made available from the Waukesha County sheriffs department. Milwaukee police because we learned that might be where christina schusters killer is. Right now, that person is being called a person of interest. The thinking right now is that schuster was shot in the head inside her apartment sometime on monday. Afterward. The person bolted in her car. And headed toward the milwaukee area. Schusters brother ended up finding her monday evening. Person of to find the guy theyre looking for. They think he and schuster knew each other. Thats a relationship well have to talk to the person of interest when we locate him. But, weve got good information from the family to follow up on. 3 3 murder and oconomowoc. One of the young girls charged in the slenderman stabbing case in waukesha changed her plea this morning. Cbs 58s Kyle Aevermann has more on the progress of the case. Anissa weier and her attorneys were only in court in for about 5 minutes this morning for a change of plea. We determined that we would be entering a plea of not guilty by reason on mental disease or defect. Not guilty. The same change of plea was made by morgan geyer, the other girl charged in the case. Both are being tried as adults in the 2014 stabbing of a classmate. Weier will now undergo an evaluation. Her attorney said it was something weier decided to do. L after several conversations. The change can mean more more treatment and resources for a possible future. It also means more supervision, which can possibly translate into more time in a mental hospital. Under a not guilty by reason the hospital must constantly evaluate what is the least restrictive means necessary to both treat her and protect the public. Both weier and geyser will be back in court on october 13. 3 a 60yearold woman was killed while walking across the street last night. Police say it happened around 7 30 at the intersection of 27th and st. Paul. The woman was in a by a 45yearold driver. That driver stayed at the scene is cooperating with police. But local First Responders want to make sure the memory lives on. They teamed up to deliver books for bravery to young milwaukee students to commemorate the tragic events of 9 11. Itll probably help us understa students cheyene and bryan an d their classmates werent alive during 9 11. But theyre learning about it in school. I feel like shocked because how everything started and how it just ended. It was just terribleorganizers say the goal is not to dwell on sadness. He had just been promoted to battalion chief when the attack happened. He says he and his crew stayed glued to the tv that day. Their hearts with their fellow First Responders. It was life changing not that any life lost in there is any more important than others but clearly being a firefighter you think most about the firefighters and the hard they tried to save lives and in fact they did save a lot of lives so our appreciation for out fellow brother and sisters that gave their life that day and those that actually surivived the event and what a difference they made in saving many lives.
