, but there definitely needs to be answers to the families of these individuals that the deaths happened to. Answers the

board supervisors believe will . Only . Be done with an outside report. The time has come for an independent investigation that is not housed within the county. State law requieres an deaths that include
Law Enforcement
officers for example officer involved shootings. However, this doesnt include a jail officer or guard which means the
Sheriffs Office
is allowed to investigate deaths that happen under its watch. And the board wants to prohibit this. This isnt about right or left, this isnt about liberal or conservative. Its about just accountability for the decisions we make with

voted today to remove lead pipes that supply water to homes in the city. It was a split vote that drew controversy because of the cost to the homeowners whose very health is at stake. Cbs 58s

passedor mandates the replacement of lead

on private p. Property. So what does this mean . If you have a lead service line and it breaks. The city will pay the majority of the replacement. But homeowners would be required to pay one third of the repair or a maximum of 16hundred dollars. And that could be spread out in payments over a 10 year period. Period. The goal is to get rid of those old lead lines that were installed more than 50 years ago. There were a few amendments added the the ordinance this morning the city as a whole. And creating a communication file, so the council can get regular updates on how repairs are affecting the city. While that was enough for most of the council, councilman borcowski felt like the city needed more time to look at funding to reduce the cost for homeowners. Homeowners. I honestly know that all of us would rather just say government will pick up the entire tab. I get that but i think that this is a fight worth fighting and a third is not good enough in my eyes and i think its all or nothing. Nothing.
