Wesh 2 s chris hush has the details all new tonight. Wiped out a Breast Cancer charity s bank account belonging to First United Methodist Church of dunnellon. At least 100,000, all gone. Mike mcquaig she has given confession. Chris Dunnellon Police chief mike mcquaig says 69yearold sharon gane confessed to transferring funds from the church s bank into her personal account multiple times and even forging checks to make the transfers. But the chief says the Church Volunteer has yet to explain what she used the funds for. When we went to gane s home to ask her in person, we could hear people inside, but no one answered the door. Mike mcquaig the whole Community Becomes a victim just about, because you re affecting the ladies who need this type of money to have their exams and the people who donated it. Chris police say the money was used by the michelleogram charity to assist many local women with Breast Cancer screenings and referrals to doctors. Gane, who police say was in charge of this bank account, was arrested for grand theft and forgery but has already bailed out of jail. As of wednesday night, the church declined to comment. Investigators said giles schinelli, robert d aversa, and Anthony Criscitelli allowed a friar to molest more than 100 kids over several years.
