The man who kidnapped and raped one woman, and murdered another has been sentenced. , today, 52yearold john lytus negotiated a plea deal. Jim for both crimes, he was sentenced to 45years. Wesh 2 s claire metz was in court today, and breaks down that deal. Claire the victims in the cases against john lytus agreed to a plea deal to avoid the pain of a trial, but they say lytus is a monster who had to be taken off the streets. Justice has been served. Claire Jennifer Moreno agreed to be identified despite being kidnapped, raped and tortured by john lytus, thankful to have survived him. I just kept praying the whole time and i don t know what happed, he let me go, and i m grateful for it. Claire moreno was 6 months up at a 711 store and took her to his home. But once inside an rv parked there, lytus hogtied marino, tortured her with a knife and raped her. I just felt grateful that i ve moved on with it and i hope that he feels one day what we have all felt. Guilty. Claire lytus pled guilty to the assault on moreno and guilty in the murder of 30yearold laura nagengast. Her nude body, hands and feet tied, was found in a ditch near deland in september, last seen getting into a truck with lytus. He will serve 45 years in prison for all the crimes but at his age, the victims know that means life. A third woman who says lytus raped her, though he was never charged, was also in the courtroom for the plea. I can t believe it, i m shocked. I can t believe he really pleaded guilty. He admitted it. Moreno, an admitted drug addict, says she s now clean and sober, raising her baby and two other children. Suspect number one one was wearing a grey and black hooded sweatshirt with white and black basketball style shoes.
