It dropped rain in this particular area right on top of our heads. You can see behind me where the current is still coming. We got here around 4 30 in the afternoon and i took note how high the water was. It doesnt look like its gone down and i think the rain is to blame. We have new information about how many pasco county homes and businesses were impacted by hermine. The numbers are pretty impressive, 197 properties th minor damage, 297 had major damage. For example, flooding with water above the door knobs or homes with trees that went through the roof. Nine homes are a total loss and officials have only toured about 60 of the areas affected. So this number is expected to rise tomorrow. Hernando county has also been assessing damage from hermine and they estimate this storm did nearly 8 million in damage in that county alone. Meanwhile governor rick scott is not happy with how back on in the State Capitol after hermine. Tonight he sparred with tallahassees mayor during a meeting at the state Emergency Operations center. The city utility promised to have power restored to 90 of homes tonight, but that didnt happen. Governor scott claims the city is listing peoples electricity as restored when their power is anything but. And at four days, you know, you look at the rest of the state this is not happening and you always say oh, it hit harder, whatever. You look at some of these small counties. It hit pretty darn hard.
