Again, a big developing story this morning. And in our other top stories this morning, an important safety alert. A super pill thats invading the streets of pinellas county. The pill looks like a xanax but its mixed with powerful main medications which can be deadly. At least nine people have died of overdoses in a matter of weeks. Much more in a live report in minutes including all you need to know to keep your loved ones safe. Meanwhile, its decision republican candidates have been campaigning heavily in arizona where 58 delegates are at stake. And for democrats, its also a big prize day for delegate, 75 for them. New tampa also looks good, eight minutes bruce b downs over to i4. We dont have slow downs but nonetheless, a collision southbound i75 at University Parkway. Traffic is moving by just fine. And thats a look at weather and traffic. And now back to gayle and gene. All right. We have more on breaking news that we have been talking about all morning long here at news channel 8. Explosions in brussels and now were hearing that the metro system is being the original explosions at the airport and now possible explosions at the metro system. News channel 8s Lindsey Mastis has been following this all morning for us. Reporter there are videos and pictures on social media showing the aftermath. I want to start right now with the report of the explosion at the metro station. This is a video. You can see smoke coming out of the tunnel there. And heres another picture, again, where you can see the smoke. And now right now, we dont have any confirmation about the number of people injured or whether theres any casualties but i am seeing a lot of reports saying that there are casualties in this location and confirmed. This is a picture posted by the trains underground, having of the station. And look at this, this is video right after the two explosions at the airport. You can see people running and you can see the building and this is after two confirmed explosions there. And now the federal prosecutor is telling the bbc now that there are at least 13 people dead and 35 injured at this airport location. And we have some video from the airport as well. Take a look at this. Passengers being evacuated, all of the flights are canceled. People are urged to stay away from the airport. And theyre also being told to stay put where ever they are right now. And i want to show you video posted to twitter, reportedly showing what it looks like on the inside here of the airport. These explosions happened in the checkin zone at an International Terminal used by American Airlines as well as other airlines. And we are trying to find out if american was targeted. And the airport is also tweeting this morning and there are pictures of the walking wounded. Some are too graphic to show you. This comes just days after a raid in brussels. Police captured one of the he is believed to have been planning another attack. The question now, did he help plan these attacks . Taken responsibility. The pill looks exactly like a xanax but instead, its mixed with a powerful pain medication called fentanyl. And now the deadly drug is only 5 a pop. And the sheriff believes the problem is really only here so far in pinellas county. We do know that a 25yearold dunedin woman overdosed on the pill and died over the weekend. So right now, undercover deputies are trying to figure out where exactly this drug is being made, where its coming from, who is selling it. Were trying to dig up for information for you this morning. Youve got to listen to this, the death of ones mother, thats a difficult well for one new york family, a tragic mixup made that tough situation much worse. The 81yearold mother, she died back in december. Now they had an open casket service at the Union Baptist church in bronx and hundreds of people we want to the service which was followed by a cremation. But the funeral homemade a terrible mistake and its a mistake that only a 10yearold noticed. When i was up there looking at the woman, my son came and tached me and said came and tapped me and said, daddy, that dont look like grandma. We didnt realize that until afterwards because the woman looked so much like my mother. The funeral home says they have been in business 50 years and nothing like this has ever happened before.
