Governor baker is calling for major changes in how the states criminal Justice System treats inmates with mental illness. Those changes would impact Bridgewater State hospital. Governor bakers plan calls for removing inmates convicted of crimes at the nearby old colony correctional center, the state said it will hire a new vendor to treat the remaining patients at the hospital and this plan will also limit the contact between Corrections Officers and inmates.
