A stoughton man faces federal charges tonight accused of a sending bomb threats to schools in several states including massachusetts and rhode island. That man appearing in federal court this afternoon, that where we find fox 25s john monahan tonight with more on these threats. John. Good afternoon blair. This all started last october. A year later. Anthony ray appeared in federal court in handcuffs. He appeared a bit confused and dew shelveded judge telling ray who was on house arrest, he will be held until they can figure out just how much of a threat he is. 24yearold anthony ray made an initial appearance inside the moakley courthouse. Ray seen in this mug shot was a previously charged in Dedham District Court for making bomb threats, but those charges were dismissed today. He was arrested on federal charges. Prosecutors say anthony ray has made several threats in four different states, threats were made to schools in chicago, norwood, providence, and raleigh, North Carolina. And ray had actually been arrested by Norwood Police after one of those threats to norwood public schools. According to affidavit, the email contained subject heading note. And stated the following, i will bomb norwood high school, norwood elementary, and Norwood Middle School no matter what you plan to do. Prosecutors then say after he had been arrested for threats in three states, and was on house arrest, ray sent this email to North Carolina state. The subject heading said boom. And stated the following, i will bomb your School Thursday at any time day or night. Ha ha ha. Investigators were able to thank that threat back to ray. Now ray will be back in federal court next thursday for preliminary hearing and coming up at 6 were digging through this affidavit right now and more on the threatening emails that ray sent coming up then.
