A lot are able to talk but a lot of them are in shock saying that it is utterly devastating what happened to them early this morning. Still try to figure it all out. We are hearing from passengers that maybe the conductor or the driver of the train may have been in some kind of medical distress which may have been what led to the horrible accident. We are still gathering information. As you can see, this is still a very active scene. People are still being taken from the train platform and transported to the hospital. The most seriously injured have already been transported. There are still a lot of ambulances standing by with firefighters still talking to people in the area. Also, those not going to the hospital are now waiting for a shuttle bus to, and transport them so they can continue on. Still waiting to gather more information from the Fire Department and the cta to exactly how many people were injured. We do know just before 3 00 act a blue line train coming into the ohare stop before it could come to a complete stop somehow hit the platform and wind up the platform. From what we can see, a train came into the station and for reasons we dont get no they did not stop at the end and it started to go up the steps to the next level escalator and then the king to a stop. But the damage to the train. Officers were here right away to start evacuating passengers. We had a bunch of ambulances on the scene to start tracking and making removals. So far no one suffering any lifethreatening injuries. Initial reports said four in serious condition. Those injuries are what we call yellow condition they appear to be stable. Nothing lifethreatening. No category risks at all. Green and yellow is good. Can you tell us, are the injuries people that were on board the train or the driver or were the people of on the platform waiting for that train to come in . It appears they were on the people who were on the train door knocked around when the train came to a hard stop and then went up the escalator and the stairs. No one was under the train or on the stairs. Were fortunate in that way. Obviously the whole stretch of trains have been shut down. Can you talk about some of the damage to the rails that you saw . From what we can tell from officials, 32 people were injured. Im told none of them are life threatening. I had a chance to speak to a few passengers who were on the train and describe for me what they heard and felt and saw. I was going to get on the first car but i changed my mind.
