He was found in the backyard. Hes been identified as nedel doleh. An autopsy will be performed today. Comed workers were in the area to repair power lines that came down during mondays storm. Comed says nearly 97thousand customers are still without power this morning. Most of those are in the south. Including in plainfield, where nancy loo is live with the latest. Crews have been working nonstop and power was actually restored to the majority of the area overnight. But outages remain including here along lincoln highway where the traffic lights are out. Many customers are read here have now been without power for well over 36 hours. Check out these pictures it happened early yesterday morning on thomas road in burlington township. Sheriffs police say a ford taurus drove into the washed out road and plunged into a tenfootwide sinkhole. A 41yearold mother and her 15yearold son were trapped. Then. A chevy pickup tried to pass through and drove over the taurus. Emergency crews rescued the victims in the taurus. They were taken to a nearby hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup was treated at the scene. And the storm kept swimmers out of lake michigan. There is a ban on swimming on chicago beaches due to concerns about the water quality. Heavy rains overloaded the sewer system and stormwater tunnels causing sewage to flow into the lake. Swimming will be allowed again when test results show its ok. No word on when the results will come back. Theres a temporary delay on the riverwalk expansion project because of flooding. Heavy rains raised Chicago River levels, putting the construction area under water. Work will resume once the water is drained or pumped out. The plan calls for a new walkway connection under the dearborn street bridge. Taking a look at the other top stories this morning. Hammond School Superintendent doctor Walter Watkins is in critical condition, after suffering a severe beating at the hands of a home invader. When the power went out during monday nights storms, someone broke into watkins home, beat him up, and stole his car. His sister discovered him, badly wounded, when she stopped by the home yesterday morning. Three men were robbed at a blackhawks practice facility. The victims were walking in monday night, when they were approached by three robbers. One of the robbers hit a victim with a gun and then demanded their money and belongings. The robbers got away, and no arrests have been made. Chicago Police Charged a 13 yearold boy with attempted murder and aggravated battery, after three other teens were shot. It happened monday evening at 97th and lowe. Two of the victims were critically injured. The suspects name isnt being released because hes a minor. If you recognize this man, the fbi wants to hear from you. The bureau calls him the no boundaries bandit. Because hes robbed seven banks in a wide range of locations since midmay. The most recent holdup was june 25th at a tcf branch at 53rd and pulaski. He didnt display a gun. But on other occasions, he did. Theres a 5thousand dollar reward if you can identify him. A sting operation is underway to catch drivers who dont stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. State law has required that for the past four years. But there have still been threethousand incidents of cars hitting people, in the city,so now undercover Chicago Police officers are posing as pedestrians, to see if drivers stop for them.
