This happened when another students, a junior at the high school, heard about these threats and didnt want to take any chances so they told authorities. A 16yearold student arrested after police say he told at least one fellow student he hoped to shoot up Methuen High School. Investigators also say there were postings on facebook and some written in texts. A female student went to authorities when she game concerned the student might hurt himself. She possibly saved that childs life. I dont know if it would have progressed to living out the fantasy and statements but based on what i know, the child would have possibly injured themselves. The arrest was made monday night but the superintendent says there was a good reason parents werent told until wednesday. So we would have the correction information to relay to the parents. Officers arrested the student monday. They also say they found concerning postings on facebook and texts as well. Police found ammunition from the students home but no real weapons. Governor Charlie Baker will meet with Law Enforcement officials today at the state house to talk about legislation to battle the Opioid Crisis in massachusetts. More than 680 people in the commonwealth died from opioid overdoses in the first half of this year which is a 6 increase compared to the same time period in 2014. What police say happened is theyre accusing this man of taking one of the girls who were enrolled in the gym program, taking them from the gym to his apartment where hes accused of raping her. 26yearold Nicholas Johnson accused of raping a child while coaching gymnastics at a West Bridgewater gym. Im in shock. Parents forced to have tough conversations with kids about how often they saw johnson at full house allstars. Johnson took a 14yearold student to his brockton apartment and had sex with her. Thats disgusting. Its sad. Its disappointing. Thats very sick and disturbing. Neighbors never saw johnson with the teenage girl. Police say after she had sex she texted him nude photos. The girl told investigators johnson say he loved her. Her parents found out and called police. Police questioned johnson a week his car off the road and ended up in the hospital. They arrested him the day he was released. They only hired johnson in may. Investigators tell us last week they fired him. He should definitely know better. I dont care if she was willing or not. She probably looked up to him. The former coach has already appeared before a judge. He entered a notguilty plea and was ordered held on a 50,000 bail. A worcester man is in court accused of exposing himself next to an elementary school. 60yearold michael boreasino lives across the street from the school and flashed in front of his window. Investigators also say there were postings on facebook and written in texts. A female student went to authorities when she became concerned the student might hurt himself. This girl possibly saved that childs life. I dont know if it would have progressed to him living out the fantasy and statements but based on what i know, the child would have injured himself. The police searched two homes associated with the High School Junior and found tactical gear. Gothic, sort of a replica of columbine type clothing. Officers recovered bullets but no real guns. The arrest was made monday night but the superintendent says theres a good reason parents werent told until wednesday. So we would have the correct parents. The coach is accused of taking this girl from the gym to his apartment. Police say he raped her. 26yearold Nicholas Johnson accused of raping a child while he was coaching gym masks masksnastics. Parents forced to have tough conversation with their kids about how often they saw johnson while working at full house allstars. Police arrested johnson saying he took a 14yearold student to his apartment and had sex with her. Thats disgusting. Its sad. Its disappointing. Thats very sick and disturbing. Neighbors never saw johnson with the girl. After she had sex with him she texted him nude photos. She said johnson said he loved her. She told a friend what happened. Her parents found out and called police. Police questioned johnson a week ago. Later that day he drove his car off the road and ended up in the hospital. They arrested him the day he was released. The gym hired johnson in may. Last week they fired him. He should definitely know better. I dont care if she was willing or not. They probably looked up to him. This former coach has already appeared before a judge. He entered a notguilty plea and the judge ordered him held on a 50,000 bail. Lets go to nancy chen. This is important info. Highway officials are inspecting more than 100,000 nuts after hundreds of cracked ones were found inside the tunnels. Crews are replacing any damaged ones. That hardware is used to hold up lights inside the tunnels but the highway administrators say theres no risk the lights will fall because theyre also held up by wires. Inspectors have already discovered 878 damaged nuts inside the ted williams tunnel. The department of transportation says 49 have been found in the i95 connector and tunnels but inspections wont be completed until november. Christa were tracking breaking news overseas out of sweden where a teacher is dead and two students wounded when a masked man attacked a school in the southern part of that country. Police say the attack happened in the cafeteria area and the two wounded students, ages 11 and 15, have serious cuts. Investigators are not saying how the teacher was killed. The masked man was also wounded when police shot him. Well be keeping tabs on this story in the day ahead, also on the today show. In methuen, closer to home, a to your teenager is accused of school. Reporter police say that the 16yearold student told at least one other student that he wanted to shoot up Methuen High School. They say they found evidence of this saying the student had referencedded Mass Shootings and especially ones in schools. It wasnt just one threat. They looked at postings on social media as well as Text Messages. A female student told authorities she was concerned once the suspect reportedly said he wanted to kill himself. Police credited that student with possibly saving the suspects life. This arrest happened monday night but parents found out wednesday. The school saying to parents that the reason we did not tell you is because we wanted to make information. Live in methuen, nick emmons, 7 news today in new england. Jadiann there are new details about a reported Sexual Assault at Bridgewater State. Police have found the claim to be unfounded. Investigators say an 18yearold student reported the assault on monday saying that she met a man on the messaging app kik. Police released a sketch of the suspect but no charges will christa Orange Line Service back up to normal following a scary scene at haymarket station latest last night. A woman was trapped under a train. Service was suspended between North Station and back bay. Police are trying to figure out what caused her to fall. She was conscious when taken to the hospital. Crews are replacing faulty construction nuts in the big tunnels. The highway Officials Say 100,000 nuts after hundreds of cracked ones were found. The hardware holds up lights but the highway administrator says the lights are not at risk to fall because theyre also held up by wires. Police charged 32yearold tony torez with murder along with weapons violations. He admitted to the shooting. The father of fouryearold lilly garcia told police it started when torez swerved into his lane on the highway. After the two exchanged words, he says torez pulled a gun and shot at the truck, hitting his little girl, who was sitting in the backseat. Jadiann Hillary Clinton set to testify on benghazi. The former secretary of state faces tough questions from the Committee Investigating the deaths of four americans including glen doherty. Nancy chen joins us with more on what clinton will be facing. Very big day ahead. We expect to hear eight hours of testimony today, much of which will focus on what happened before the attack in benghazi. Lawmakers are expected to question former secretary of state Hillary Clinton on her own emails that are still being release the. But theyre also going to release thousands of pages of emails from embassador chris stevens, who was killed in the attack. Stevens and glen doherty were among the four americans killed in the attack. Doherty was a former navy seal providing security at the consulate and embassador stevens asked for more seat but never received it. Clinton says the request never made it to her desk. Theyre expected to push for more Security Training and diplomacy in risky areas. Christa vice President Joe Biden finally announcing he will not be running for president. Biden says after mourning the death of his son, who passed away, the last five months his window for a run as closed in his words. Jadiann, parents we spoke to clearly upset about these accusations. Police say that this coach took one of the girls he was coaching from this gym to his apartment. Hes accused of raping her. His name is Nicholas Johnson. Hes 26 years old and he was a gymnastics coach at full house allstars. He took the 14yearold student back to his apartment in brockton and raped her there. Police say she also texted him nude photos. The girl apparently told a friend and her parents found out. Her parents called 911. Police arrested johnson after he ended up in the hospital after he drove his car off the road. So he has already appeared before a judge. He entered a notguilty plea and was ordered held on a 50,000 bail. Live this morning in West Bridgewater, victoria warren, 7 news today in new england. Christa the Opioid Crisis taking center stage on beacon hill today. Lets go to Nicole Oliverio outside the statehouse with more on the plan. Reporter crist tax despite efforts to try and stop this crisis, according to the department of Public Health, the number of open opioid deaths increased this year. Governor baker will be meeting with Law Enforcement to talk about what can be done to prevent the Opioid Crisis here in massachusetts. Last week governor baker talked about his desire to pass a bill preventing doctors from prescribing first time patients more than a threeday supply of the drugs. The proposal would give doctors the power to hold addicts if they pose a danger and need help. Deaths increased the first half of this year compared to the same time last year. From january to june 684 people died compared to 641 last year. Theres a state lawmaker whos hoping to get a bill passed that would prevent doctors from prescribing oxycontin to children saying its a gateway drug to heroin.
