This affects folks who ride the Commuter Rail primarily into south station, and take a live they have the board up. Right now the board lists a lot of ontime and tobedetermined. Thats going to change as these trains get going, but this morning at least they do have a plan in place. Many trains being diverted to other stations. The only trains scheduled to arrive here at south station will be the commuter lines on the franklin and providencestoughton line. Commuter chaos as thousands of passengers cram south station where few trains were actually leaving. You have to take the red line the braintree. Im trying to find out whether the board is correct and im actually on train 2175 going home in a few minutes. Victoria it started with a listening ride in. Commuter trains essentially stopped in their tracks before getting to south station after a switcher problem linked to amtrak. It took me an hour and a half, two hours to get in this morning. We sat on the train for about 20 minutes now. Now were getting picked up. Victoria crews tried all these are pictures from inside the amtrak tower where workers have been trying the identify the problem. Its like a traffic signaling system or an air Traffic Control system. It tells you whether its okay for the trains to safely travel along the tracks. When this system, this particular one goes out, it has an enormous impact. Victoria some passengers started the day understanding these things happen, but by the evening, they had enough. At least they could do is try to get us Better Service at the end of the business day, have a few buses waiting to take us home. Look at the size of the bus. Theyre sending one bus . This is not acceptable. Its a sign of the crumbling infrastructure in this country. Nothing has been maintained. Its all falling apart. Victoria we will be monitoring this all morning long. The mbta is asking for patients saying theyve been assured that amtrak continues to work on this problem. The needham line going into forest hills. The middleborough line will go into j. F. K. The kingston and plymouth line will go to braintree, and the center. The fair mount line will go to new market. The t is on time so far. If youre driving to work this morning, good shape right now. Route 1 looking guys, as is 93 southbound. South of town from braintree to boston expressway northbound, that drive ten minutes. So no delays there. Route 24, route 3, 95 all green, looking good. The pike from framingham eastbound into boston, no issues lets take take a look at these drive times. Ten minutes on the expressway. 128 to the zakim bridge, 10 minutes, as well. Christa police at umassamherst are still searching for two gunmen who they say assaulted a student on campus. Intruder alert. Christa an alert on campus warned sthiewns to shelterinplace late last night. Police say that two men with a gun attacked a student Pierpont Hall and took off. They flooded that area for nearly two hours. They came from off campus, from out of the area. We clearly have identified that student. Before i knew it, alarms are going off everywhere. Im getting emergency texts. Christa police gave the all clear after they figured out campus. The victim, meantime, is being treated at the hospital for a cut to his head. Mother and her fivemonthold baby daughter being treated for serious injuries after being hit by a car. Police say the mother was holding her baby girl while she was crossing humboldt avenue in roxbury late last night. They were taken to the hospital. The driver did stop. So far in charges have been filed. Sarah new this morning, the Boston Public Schools announced the results of an internal investigation. It comes following student allegations of racism at the boston latin school. 7s Nicole Oliverio is live with school officials. Nicole . Nicole sarah, what it means, nobody will be losing their job, but there was one instance in this review that said the school did violate policy. Now, the schools headmaster here at boston latin, lynn mooney teta, will not be disciplined, but the internal review stated the school did not properly respond to the students racial slur in one reported understand did. This after two students began a blackat bls to raise awareness for what they believed was the schools failure to address racism. Last month the students dressed in all black as a silent protest. The district released its findings after looking at racial incidents from 2004 until january of this year. In total there were seven incidence and only where the school is accused of not adequately investigating. The school has come up with its own sixpoint plan they say will help address any issues that happen either in the school or online. Live in boston, Nicole Oliverio, 7news today in new england. Cricht crist we have new details about Police Activity in roslindale. Police say a report of a person barricaded inside a home is being investigated as a possible hoax. According to the globe, officers believe this was a case of swatting, when someone reports a fake mastering similar officers received the call thursday afternoon. A swat team swarmed that home, surprising the man who was there ended up being no emergency at all and no one was hurt. The driver involved in a crash in leominster is now facing several charge, including driving to endanger. Police say the crash split the mans car in half. Look at that. This was last night. A state trooper says he saw the car go past the stop sign and speed off. The trooper followed and then soon found the wrecked vehicle. Even after crashing, the driver still left the scene. Police eventually found him in a store and made the arrest. Sarah right now police are looking for two persons of interest in connection with a crash that left a revere officer injured. Revere police releasing these pictures of michael gustro and jacqueline murphy. They are suspected of starting a chase. The suspects are driving a gold honda. The officer crashed in chelsea enter two telephone poles. Witnesses nearby pulled him out of his car. They say they saw the honda get away. Revere police say the officer should be okay. For the man in connection to the murder of a woman in malden earlier this week. 35yearold Kenneth Manning was last seen in somerville. The victims body was found monday night in her malden home. Police say the victim was stabbed. Officials say manning is known to carry a knife and should not be approached. I cant rule out a sprinkle first thing in the morning. Maybe a brief shower right at the end of the day. But much of the time this weekend is going to be spent on the dry side. Although by sunday night there could be another quickmoving system that drops a couple more snow showers or a little rain or snow around here. So well call it seasonable this afternoon.
