He leaves behind a wife and two daughters. A florida man faces federal charges in connection to a case out of ottumwa. 19 year old Kevin Ramirez was indicted in federal court yesterday. Hes charged with two counts of enticement of a minor, and possession of child pornography. Police say he traveled to ottumwa to meet a 13 Year Old Girl in october 2015. An amber alert was issued, and they were both located in georgia. Ramirez has a detention hearing set for monday in des moines. Today, students from all over des moines gathered for the third annual teen summit. The event focuses on Self Expression through art and social issues handpicked by the teens themselves. More than 200 teens representing all of des moines high schools gathered to have a safe place to talk we wanted to create an event that brought young people from all over the city together to discuss social issues, and create art using one of the urban art forms and we wanted it to be youth led, youth produced. emily lang helped start the urban Leadership Class at central campus, a class that has grown from just 30 students to more than 100 in three short years. The two day event offers town hall style meetings and artistic workshops like graffiti writing, street art and spoken word poetry. And teens say its a place they feel comfortable expressing themselves and talking about spoken word poetry. Deere and companys effort comes in the form of layoffs, about one hundred of them. Officials cite a declining demand for large farm equipment, like combines and tractors. A special type of grass is helping the university of iowa cut some costs. The university is using giant miscanthus as a renewable source of fuel. It harvests the grass from local power plant. Experts say that can prove up to ten percent of the heating and cooling across campus. Giant miscanthus can also help with Erosion Control and water quality. When we think about economic and environmental and social benefits, this is really a great opportunity in all those areas.
