Tonight, 12 news investigates a drug raid in one of the most easy communities in the state. Adrienne wisn 12 Colleen Henry shows us what police found at a mansion in river hills. From news chopper 12, you can see the vastness of the house and grounds. The 7000 square foot home is on the market for which may explain 1. 8 million, why the homeowner was unaware there was a marijuana plot growing at his property line. Accordinto the property behind the mansion was recently sold the new , Property Owner clearing the brush when he came upon some suspicious plants. He said the plants were staked with tomato wrings and protected with chicken wire along a wellworn path that led back to the mansion. He brought the plants to police who returned with a warrant ,. Investigators say they found marijuana leaves and stems scattered throughout the home and large amounts floating in the toilets. Officers arrested the homeowners 27yearold daughter. The daughter wouldnt answer the door this afternoon, but her mom i wonder what you can tell us about the marijuana bust . She mouthed, i know nothing about it and disappeared. The 27yearold was released to her mother. She faces a felony drug charge. The District Attorney is currently reviewing the case. In river hills, Colleen Henry, wisn 12 news 12 news. Eric von, a prominent milwaukee broadcaster, is being remembered after his sudden death last night. As his dear friend and our colleague Mike Anderson reports the journalist, web pioneer, and , loving family man leaves a legacy behind of a life full of passion. You hear gunshots. You see speeding cars. You hear people screaming and yelling all the time. Eric von was a voice that spoke truth and concern. I thought why not create something usable, particularly when many thought there was no hope. There is redemption. There is reclamation. There are people who see the damage that they have done to an individual or to a community, and they have changed their ways. Thursday night it appears eric died of a heart attack at his home in sherman park. I visited him there a couple of months ago to talk about the unrest that was already brewing in the neighborhood, even before the Police Shooting that sparked fires d von was a prominent milwaukee broadcaster with a history at wuwm and wmcs 1290 radio, and on milwaukee public television. He also, for a time, would appear on wisn 12 news as a regular contributor. Reverend Jesse Jackson was in milwaukee today delivering his get out the vote message to a gathering of clergy and community leaders. Most recently, his voice was an urban talk show on wnov radio. He gave you that feeling like i am just a guy and i want to know some things, but that kind of interviewing, it the best i have ever seen. We lost a tremendous voice and this community, that not just a voice in terms of the radio, but a voice away from the radio program. The last time i have it on his show, he let me do his signature , be good, be careful, and byebye. Toya erics full name was eric von boardley. He leaves behind a grown daughter, and a loving wife, faithe colas of milwaukees salvation army. Our deepest condolences to the family. Eric von was 58. Adrienne honoring victims for sundays 15th anniversary of the 9 11 terror attacks. Students at St Johns Military Academy in delafield held a special ceremony today. At riley elementary school, about their experiences from that day. Freshmen in high school werent even alive when september 11 happened. That boggles the mind. This is our pearl harbor.
