Later today, Milwaukee County a new resolution recognizes october as Domestic Violence awareness month. The county is launching a new initiative called keep us safe to encourage people to take action against Domestic Violence. Theyre also asking people to wear purple on october 20th to raise awareness. A family mourning after a crash claims a womans life. Tim, were told friends left her at the crash scene . We spoke to the womans mother who says away without checking on her daughter. 23yearold savanna scott died this weekend in a crash near 51st and auer. She was a passenger in a car that police say ran a stop sign and crashed into an suv. Savanna was ejected from the car and her friends allegedly left her there. Police havent identified the people in the car but savannas mother says it was her god daughter and her boyfriend. Tells you your child died that way at the hands of her own person she called a sister that she grew up . Police say they have arrested a man and a woman for the crash they have not filed charges yet. Larnal friend disappeared last week while boating on lake his body was found early yesterday morning. A preliminary autopsy indicates that he died of accidental drowning. The city sent out an Emergency Notification warning people to to turn off air conditioners. This is a look from above that area. These large flames are to blame, but theres still no word on what caused the flareup or whether anyone was hurt. It took hours to take down a bridge in arkansas. Crews tried to use explosives to knock it down and even tried to pull it down using a barge, but the bridge in little rock resisted for five hours. Watching the demolition cheered. Right now officials in illinois are investigating what caused a house explosion. The explosion destroyed a townhome complex last night in a neighborhood near joliet. Wisn 12 news tim elliott is following the latest details, tim . Authorities evacuated several blocks around the home after the explosion rang out. Witnesses tell the Chicago Tribune that it sounded like a bomb and an earthquake. After the blast, crews worked to two gas Company Workers were hurt while responding, one is in critical condition. Officials say no one was inside the building when the explosion happened. Authorities are investigating now to find out what caused it. New this morning, one person is dead and the pilot is in the hospital after a small plane crashed in connecticut. The plane came down on main street in east hartford. Officials say it was coming in when the plane hit power lines and poles. Two people were on board at the time.
