Senior political reporter scott thuman is live at the capitol hill bureau. Now, there are questions about how this could affect her possible president ial run of course. Thats right, alison. We have seen so often in politics where controversy is allowed to grow and grow. And that is exactly what we are seeing right now as critics of Hillary Clinton continue to ask why she had that private email address and server for use when she was secretary of state and if the 55,000 emails shes turned over now are all that are considered relevant. Today, then secretary Hillary Clinton was on stage. She was at an event in new york. She did not address the matter at all or make mention of it. But she was with her daughter chelsea who was questioned recently by the media about those emails. As reporters try to find out if there was anything improper or even illegal about the way then secretary clinton did business. Well, youll have to ask her about that. As her daughter we email about things like thanksgiving dinner and our plans to watch a movie on friday night. So in terms of her official emails, youll have to ask her. So many are wondering now at this point if we will see in the next day or two or at least this week Hillary Clinton address these concerns. Will she come out and talk with the media and answer a lot of these lingering questions . In the meantime the white house was asked some very interesting questions today about whether or not the president recognized when he was in emailing back and forth with Hillary Clinton that it was coming from a private email address. Id like to turn to the newest addition of the apple family. Apple is ready to take a bite out of the wristwatch business. The features and how much it will cost next. Calls email and open up your hotel room. Thats a few things that you can do with apples new watch. The future is here right . Apples c. E. O. Tim cook unveiled the watch today. It will cost 349 for a base model. A luxury gold version will go for 10 grand. Cook called the apple watch the most personal device the company has ever created. Its on you. We designed apple watch to fit a whole variety of people. So the watch is considered a big gamble for apple since the smartwatch market is pretty sluggish. Some folks arent eager to pay hundreds of bucks for this new device. Typically when apple releases a new phone, you see lines all across the country. But will its new watch draw the same crowd . The apple watch will allow you to check your emails, Text Messages and calls and will cost at least 349 but will be available in stainless steel, silver aluminum and even 18 karat gold that could cost thousands of dollars. Will people buy it . We stopped dozens of people outside of the apple stores in georgetown and clarendon and had a hard time finding interested customers. Im not going to wear my computer on my wrist. I work for a living with my hands. It doesnt seem the least bit convenient. I have my phone near me and i find it awesome. If the price was right and had all the features that i actually wanted. Im not a technical guy and i think the phone does enough already. Having a watch do the same thing, it would be awesome. Youll be able to use some of the features without an iphone close by. But in order to use all the functions, youll still need an iphone 5. Diane cho, abc 7 news. Ok. We want your thoughts on the new apple watch. Would you wear it and would you pay hundreds of dollars or maybe more for it . Answer on our abc 7 Facebook Page and well share some of your responses a little bit later. All right. Time for a check of the traffic situation with bob emler in the wtop traffic center. How is it looking today . Not too bad for a monday. Well have a lot more sunshine today for an hour longer but as far as volume goes we filled out a bit about the georgetown pike up to 270 briefly through bethesda and Silver Spring in the usual spots there. But no incidents along the way. 270 had a crash northbound. Its out of the road now still getting attention. 9 95 traveling southbound doing all right. And beyond that the heaviest traffic getting down through stafford with the travel lanes open, lets take a look at some cameras and see how things look right now. Things are generally good on 66 heading out to the west. We have volume getting out through vienna and fairfax city headed to 123. Beltway and inner loop if you see the traffic headed towards georgia avenue. Im bob emler with 103. 5 wtop radio. Thank you, bob. All right. Doug is back. Hello. From a nice vacation. We missed you. Weve been here freezing our butts off and he comes back here with a tan to rub it in with. You see that . I know. It was a long winter yes. He deserves it. He deserves it. Listen, we dont have any need to worry about snow in the next seven days and i dont think we have worries about freezing temperatures. We have one concern that steve rudin will address in a few minutes. Lets start out with a look outside live. Take you to ocean city. Here we are, march 9th. March, april and may. Only a couple of months people will be playing on the beach. Hang in there. We have winter on the ropes. Cant declare the snowfree winter at this point. But things are looking up for us. For the beach, a little bit chilly. 60 degrees, not too shabby weatherwise. 64 in stafford. 58 degrees in helen and st. Marys county. 63 in the district. 46 61 in chantilly. At this moment 62 at Reagan National and andrews. So plenty of melting during the day. Aided by the sunshine. Plenty of warm enough temperatures overnight to continue melting in the overnight hours as well. What were going to keep our eyes on is developing storm center way down to the southwest. Pulling in gulf moisture northeastward right on a bead line right for our area. Now, the clouds are increase tonight. Well be cloudy tonight when you get up. Rain looks like theyll probably move in just about just about noontime tomorrow. Well get it from the southwest and watching it in areas of culpepper. The rain will move in there first and overspread through the metro area. This is what the futurecast does timewise. Cloudy at 7 00 a. M. And have the rain continue to advance across the Morning Hours and by midday, well see it making the move through the area and be very widespread and through the afternoon hours more periods of rain. Most of it will fall into wednesday morning. Theres the potential there for quite a bit of rainfall moving through the area. So theres melting and theres rainfall. Could that provide some issues . Lets find out from our steve rudin outside of our storm watch 7 Weather Center studios here in rosslyn. Not a whole lot of snow here in rosslyn. Last week thursday when youre enjoying your trip in warm erer weather, we were dealing with a lot of snow around here. All that is left right now if you look out there, not a whole lot due to the strong sun angle. This time of year even though here we are early march, the sun angle is the same as wed see the middle of october. So it does not take a long time for all the snow to start to melt. Bigger problems will come tomorrow when we get the rain and we could see upwards of an inch of rain by the time all is said and done by the middle of the week and this may pose some localized flooding especially up towards northern Montgomery County into Frederick County you can see the rain totals at least projects rain totals around the area for the next 48 hours and youll notice the heaviest of the rain to the north and thats where they had the most snow last week. What does that mean . It means you want to try to sweep away the snow from your sewers. To allow everything to drain properly. But be forewarned we could be looking at a little bit of flooding come tomorrow night into the day on wednesday. Major flooding, i wouldnt call it that. But as everything is going to melt and if you have not enjoyed the snow right now, you had better enjoy it because it is gone very, very quickly. Doug . Lets look at numbers the next seven days. 70 chance of rain. Clearing sunday into monday. Those are nice looking numbers and Pay Attention to the numbers in the bottom. Those are the overnight lows and you notice they all remain well above freezing. Youll hear drip drip drip during the morning and drip, drip, drip at night. Were ready for that. We want to hear the big melt. They call me the drip. The big drip. Exactly. Thanks doug.
