Authorities say 54yearold Edward Campbell and his 21yearold son eric went to a oxford North Carolina yesterday. They allegedly set the home on fire and abducted the residents, jerome and dora faulkner. Later in the day, the campbells were spotted by police in lewisburg, virginia. When police tried to pull them over, they say edward shot two officers. When the father and son were eventually caught, police found the bodies of the North Carolina couple in their truck. Will not face new charges in the death of former White House Press secretary james brady. Brady was seriously wounded in the 1981 assassination attempt against president reagan. Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Brady died last august and his death was ruled a homicide because of the injuries sustained in 1981. Well maureen, in total, jim moran spent 35 years in public office. First in alexandria Public Council and then as a democrat in congress. His Capitol Office has already been taken over to be refurbished for a new member so today we met with him here in del ray to reflect on his decades in public service. It was here in del ray where jim moran got passionate about the politics in the 1970s when they red lined this neighborhood refusing mortgages, he went all the way to the Justice Department and won. They did community developed a number of the people that have worked with me throughout my political career that have been involved in this community. Successful neighborhoods. I cant even afford to buy a house here. But its great. Today, moran easily talks to constituents and says that the young federal worker first running for office he was so shy he often fainted on the stump. Now hes known for his liberal outspokeness proud for his early support of gay rights Animal Rights environment and the poor opposing the iraq war while strongly advocating for peace in the middle east. Hes frustrated by polarization and gridlock in washington but insists voters can still influence policy. Those people that feel intensely about issues make an enormous difference.
