As the relatives tell me, the doctors wife remains in nebraska at this hour while family and friends are gathered justat home in maryland, one week ago these loved ones were celebrating because the initial tests came back negative. Now they are grieving and mourning together. Iirmly believe that this was a calling. Is the doctor back in april. The local surgeon was recently diagnosed with ebola in sierra leone and flew to nebraska for treatment over the weekend. This morning he passed away. Him, we hugged him. He loved his job. He lived in carrollton with his wife and is the second person to die of the disease in the u. S. His neighbor, a practicing nurse and fellow native of sierra leone, said that he was inspired by the doctor. When i heard that they flew him here for treatment i was excited. I was like wow. That is encouraging news. He left an extremely critical condition, the 10th patient to be treated in the state, the third at the nebraska medical center. Hospital officials said that he was perhaps the sickest of the mall. Thing broke out in my country the first thing that came to my mind, i wanted to go home and help. He went back home in april to help the people who were dying from ebola. Those who work in the medical industry described him not only as a loved one, but a mentor. He went out of his way to take care of my stepfather back home. The doctor loses his battle with ebola after being in a biocontainment unit for only two days.
