Another cold day out there as we take a look at the Nations Capital on this frigid tuesday, doug. Temperatures struggling through the teens right now. Teens and low 20s. Thats all were going to get and, you know maybe this afternoon, well crack close to 30 at Reagan National airport. Cold day, cold night and still looking at the chance of some snow here by thursday morning. So lets get started with it and tell you what the possibilities are. Ok. Lets begin with the time lapse. Theres two stories that were watching. First is going through North Carolina right now on the weather bug network. Time lapse from the downtown campus of Charlotte University in raleigh, North Carolina and continues to move to the east to the outer banks and even the outer banks cold enough to get snow. This is system one. A stronger one is developing a little farther to the southwest and that system well have to deal with here in some measure early thursday morning. Well show you the images and tell you what we expect to be a likely outcome of the Second System here. Right now, its 19 degrees in leesburg. Low this morning 4 below. 2 below is the low in washington dulles. Set a record. Broke the old record by 17 degrees. Something close to that crazy. 3 degree is the low temperature in bethesda. So were Still Holding much below average. Our average high this time of february is 49 degrees. And day after tomorrow average high will be 50. These numbers way below the mark. So the cold air is in place and its widespread through the northeast and great lakes. Even farther south temperatures still in the 20s. Raleigh with the snow at 20. 2 degrees, tidewater. We wont see any major warmup any time soon. Thats setting the stage for whats coming next. Just a few high clouds in our area. Here the snow across portions of North Carolina. System one out of the way and we deal with system number two thats starting to take shape as we speak. Gets well to the southwest. Some of the clouds will be increasing during the midday tomorrow. Clouds will overspread our area and according to the in house computer model by early on thursday morning before sunrise, areas of snow could be moving through the area. And then as we get through 8 00 9 00 or so it looks like it should pull off to the east with some accumulation. Heres the deal. This is based on modeling. The storm could stay farther to the south or come farther to the north and bring a little more moderate snow here. Clearly something we have to watch very very carefully. Whatever happens, i think by midday thursday, everything should settle down. Here we go for the next seven days. What we have in mind for you here. 30 degrees for a high today. 40 might a bit optimistic tomorrow but were those kinds of folks. At least upper 30s here with partly cloudy skies with clouds increasing through the afternoon and thursday right now well keep it for a 40 chance of snow early in the morning when i join you at 4 00 5 00 and 6 00 this afternoon, a little more data to be able to change those totals a bit for you. Thursday potentially big weather day for parts of our viewing area. Ok. We will tune in for you. Ill be here. 7 on your side this noon with the Health Matters warning for women. Between work and family, often our busy lifestyles make it impossible to relax. But as liz bonis reports, holding on to your anger, stress and frustration can be hazardous to your health. Now, i was running 100 miles an hour all the time. As a busy artist sarah belamy was living the dream until one day she barely made it home in time to call a neighbor in her building and say i left the elevator door here and thats about all i remember. Its all she remembers because she had a heart attack. After surgery, she realized when it came to her emotions i wasnt paying attention to me in a huge way. Dr. Erin friesz says she sees the same problem in many younger women in her practice. Stress frustration and anger from overloaded lives shows up in Blood Pressure depression and serious risks for having a heart attack. You cant underestimate the connection between your emotions and your Mental Health and your physical health. Dr. Friesz often refers her patients to dr. Niki instone, Behavioral Health specialist who says what we tend to do more things we have on our plate, something has to get scraped off and the first thing that gets scraped off is taking care of you. Dr. Instone suggests healthy coping mechanisms for stress frustration and anger because if what you do with your anger does damage to yourself, to other people to the relationship or property that was not a healthy way to be expressing that anger. She points out that it is natural to feel this emotion and most of us on any given day are probably going to encounter something that is going to make us anger. There are certain ways or certain tools that can help you actually adapt to sort of altering that emotion or at least a response to it. I had to relook at a whole lot of things. Its not just go to the hospital and have this repaired. It
