Inch and a quarter in Silver Spring and almost an inch in ashburn. Almost 3 4 of an inch in great falls. Look at the temperatures. Low to mid 40s. Very chilly air across the area. Temperatures show a big difference between easterly winds coming off the atlantic keeping us very very chilly for this time of year and get farther west my gosh it is springtime all over the place and that is contributing to the big storms. As we look at radar and satellite tomorrow, well see a line of showers that came through earlier this morning to the east now. We have clouds and drizzle. We have this big complex of storms coming across ohio. Very intense and severe thunderstorms. Theyre going to move eastward. When they get out of the warm air environment across appalachians and get east of the mountains into this cool damp air coming off the atlantic at should knock the starch out of the sails and knock down the thunderstorms to scattered rain showers later this afternoon. Well kind of have that kind of drippy pattern off again and on again as were still under the influence of air coming off the Atlantic Ocean keeping us with cooler air with occasional showers. That warm air will make a comeback here by friday. Well bust well into the upper 70s h futurecast shows in the meantime scattered showers here and there. Theres a little cluster scheduled through early tonight moving through the metro area. Just to the north of washington and few more showers tomorrow and all the way through the pattern until we break into the warmer airflow here on friday. And as a cold front approaches late friday that may lead to those thunderstorms. So here for today, clouds and at best 54. Most areas in the 40s with periods of rain around the area and continuing eastnortheasterly wind. For the nationals tonight, it looks as though there will be periods of rain possible. Most time, it will be damp and drizzly so right now as far as the game is on. Well keep our fingers crossed that we dont have any heavy rain around the area. Cherry b
