Great to have you with us. We begin this halfhour with a night of vif lense in the city of ferguson, missouri. Thats after a peaceful Church Service by the parents of Michael Brown. Protesters were clashing in the streets. They fired tear gas into the police are reporting at least one shooting overnight. Ferguson with the latest. Marci. Reporter yeah, devin, michelle. The officer in charge of securing the streets here says the violence started with that shooting, but then escalated with hundreds of protesters, making their way here to the Police Command center. He says that those protesters threw multiple molotov cocktails at officers and he says they had no choice fwbut to have the strg response we saw here tonight. Chaos erupting again in ferguson, missouri. Police in Armored Vehicles launching tear gas and smoke canisters into the crowd following reports some one may have thrown a molotov cocktail at officers. There were shootings. Looting vandalism. And other acts of violence that clearly appear not to have been spontaneous but premeditated criminal acts. Reporter the drama unfolding hours before a second night of a mandatory curfew put in place by the governor. A so far failed attempt to calm the violence marring this Community Since Michael Brown was shot and killed by an officer last weekend. Abc news has now confirmed details of a q iminary private autopsy ordered by browns family. Revealing that the 18yearold was shot at least 6 times including twice in the head. Two morq autopsies are still being done. We are told this report adds that it appears preliminarily that the shots were not fired at close range. Police have maintained that officer darren wilson, shown in the facebook phoao was in some kind of altercation with unarmed teen before he shot him. As the the investigation continues, protesters say they will be out on these streets every day. I know this is at least going to last until an arrest is made. Thats the primary reason we are out here protesting. Reporter and police here also tell us that several shots were fired at officers although no officers were hurt. There are also reports of looting. Were told there were six or seven arrests. And several protesters were hurt. Devin and michelle. Marci you have been out there last night when the tear gas started being fired earlier. Give us an idea of what you saw. Reporter yep , in the media staging area, standing alongside a big group of protesters. From where we were, things seemed calm. We deidnt see any one acting violently toward police. From our perspective it was without warning. We saw armored truck coming our way. Before we could make it to our car, the tear gas and the smoke canisters, started being fired into the crowd. We were able to get out and get here to the police staging area. Without any issue. But, we saw people, running for cover. And we know the situation continued to escalate from there. Marci, we know that police just wrapped up a press conference. What are they saying about what theyre going to do next to keep the peace . Reporter well they say theyre holding a meeting to figure out operational thing thousands. What can change.
