The speed limit on this road is 50 miles per hour, and its more like 15 with all the snow on there. Its very dry snow compared to a couple of days ago, that is what were seeing with the snow shower around dry ridge and areas its looking pretty good. The crews did a good job on the roads overnight. Organization is mourning the clubhouse and equipment manager bernie stoke passed away last night. He was for a lack of a better term the man behind the wish. 46 of those years spent manning the clubhouse. He spent his career with the reds in 1947 as a clubhouse attendant. He spent time as a member the beloved team. They will tell you bernie stow was one of them. He made sure every uniform, every piece of equipment was in tip top shape. From crossly field to Riverside Stadium until he officially retired in 2014. Shawn casey the mayor had all of this to say on twitter, thank you, better than for all the kindness you showed my family and i. Hashtag rip. He wasnt the only one weighing in. Johnny bench tweeted this deeply sadden of bel stow passing, he is now in better hands than mine. He has been with the team since 1975. He runs the visitors clubhouse and his other son, rick is in charge of the reds clubhouse. A genuine affect, from all of those guys, good and bad. Pete rose was quoted as saying a month ago, bernie was one of us. He may not have been on the team as a player, he was ours. Bernie stow, 80 years old. Volunteers are trying to provide food for the pets of those less fortunate. That charity needs help. It hands out food treats, toys and even cat litter. The space has been donated by the landlord for several years, but now it needs a paying tenant by the end of the month. I know that people need this, because they could be doing other things, they could be sleeping on a sunday morning, the people that are making it here every month, really need the help. The last day contribution will take place on february 21st. Theres no new space, the remaining food and supplies will be put into storage. A local deputy saved a mans life as his jeep was hit by a train, not once but twice. He hit black ice and hit the size of a moving train. As deputies got there, they saw another train coming and pulled mclaugh just in time. That is incredible. Its scary. When you saw what his jeep looked like after that crash. One of the deputies was quoted and said this is going to hurt, hurt a lot, but it took them three minutes to say we got to get this guy out. Thank goodness. It is 6 06, and a shakeup in the democrats and 9 minutes after 6 00, still flurries and showers dotting the area, nothing sa going to bring additional accumulation, however expect flurries and snow showers in the next couple of hours. Maybe even peeks of sun by this afternoon, im tracking more cold and more chances of snow in your extended forecast, i will have more on that in a few minutes, jen. S. 27, you can see traffic is starting to pick up in volume in that spot along 471, we are seeing volume pick up there. Watch for potential black ice on move into secondary roads. Back to you. Most of us stand in awe of circus performers and what they do. One teenager is trying to do what they do when he can barely walk. Joining the circus is helping joey to battle a rare disease. This disease looks like growing pains, but can attack, skin, organs, and in joeys case bones. He really wanted to join, so he learned to juggle, ride a uni unicycle, even do a crow batting, its a distraction for all of the emotional and physical pain she feeling. Circus has been a great, he wanted something he had a passion for. Its something i love to do and something i would like to be able to do for rest of my life. My fingers are crossed that he will be able to do this. Its the circus month imagine the confidence he has now, being able to do that. Absolutely. It is 6 11. Go sheep. Ikea has a new idea for your sons or your daughters bedding. The skills 6 14 the votes are in for the nations first primary. Donald trump won the republic a and john kasich wail in came in second. Independent voters were key with the democratic race, with Bernie Sanders scoring a significant victory over hillary clinton. We won, the energy, and the excitement that the Democratic Party will need to succeed in november. Were feeing to fight for every vote in every stage. The next contest takes place february 20th. The Democratic Caucus in nevada and the gop pry necessary in south carolina. New this morning, Ferguson Missouri City Council just agreed to huge changes to the citys police department, but changes still need federal approval. They want to implement an accountability system. Like play levels for officers. New this morning, target is kids. Neutral colors. They removed the boys and girls aisles last year. You know this, if you are a mom or a dad. Getting a child ready for bed time, its not easy, but if you had triplets plus a toddler, you have to be super mom. Look at this woman getting hits on facebook. Watch mom lift on the toddler for the second or third time on to the bed. While she is making sure the wiggly triplets dont fall off. Toddler gets up and starts jumping around the bed. Before long she is gone again, and its the same thing over and watch out the triplets. And theres a toddler. Can you even manage. No. No. Having one baby is hard enough. Wow its like my god. Its like trying to put a dip ore a atypier on a squirrel. But your strews level is out of necessity. You got to get very fast. I cant im still changing the diapers one, and i cant, i cant, i cant even. God bless her. Once they get mobile its a whole different deal. Oh, yeah. And you have four of them, one of them very mobile. You need some reinforcement. Way to go, way to go. Jen, how are the roads looking. We are looking great. That doesnt mean we shouldnt be cautious of potential black ice particularly on secondary roads. As i mentioned earlier we had an mill tail road. Twovehicle crash reported there. If i ever recall correctly we had an accident. Could be one of those stretches of road, maybe its finding, im not familiar with it, there could be black ice in that area. Looking at the interstates, things look great. It looks like a salt truck going through that area, even though theres not a lot of precipitation on most of a lot of our interstates, it looks like theyre sure theyre treating these roads. I did see precipitation maybe falling and john gumm can speak to this maybe a little bit more, maybe to the bottom of the 275 loop. As we look at areas, no problems to report on the interstates and volume of traffic actually remains pretty light for this time of the morning, were starting to see our typical delays start to bail out there a little bit this morning. The roads look food. Good. Secondary roads are going to have problems, it looks like the main roads are in good shape. Still snow falling, jen, most of it just light, not accumulating much. Want to zoom in on a spot here around the hebron area, and northern boone county. You get up to 237 heading toward the northern part of ben county. A heavier shower for you folks there. And crossing the river into northern and parts of hame ton, hamilton, and mainly what we have are very light, flurries, snow showers, and occasionally you get a little burst here that may put a little coating on the roads, you got to watch that, elsewhere, its mainly light snow that were seeing, one exception in the southern penal ton pendleton, and southern brack encounty, over the next couple hours, what you see is what you get, occasional snow showers moving through, little if any additional accumulation, but again in the pick up a little bit of a covering, Winter Weather advisory goes until 11 00 this morning, it covers everyone in the tristate. Showers taper off. That is the weather cam and you can see a snow shower coming back over cincinnati. Our visibility will come down to florsys flurries will linger to the end of the day, single digit windchills through the weekend, and the start of the weekend it looks like it gets even colder. The windchill is at 6 with a west wind at 7 miles per hour, and you can see the windchills down in the Single Digits, as cold as 2 at lufkin, as 2 below and we will see flurries and snow showers through the morning, temperatures in the teens, and windchills Single Digits and below zero, we edge into the low 20s, late day and the snow showers taper down to just a few lingering flurries through the afternoon, and into 13 up at laurel indiana, its 13 in maysville, fairly uniform temperatures, uniformly cold, bitterly cold. 16 here, look at this chicago, just at 10 degrees, were in the midst of a cold air, and you can see the flurries and snow showers flying throughout much of the ohio river, even as far south as georgia. Theyre seeing flurries and snow showers this morning. Lets put things in motion here. There are the snow showers and flurries early. By late day, that chance for snow showers kind of shifts into our eastern counties, a few flurries may linger elsewhere. Notice the breaks in the clouds here, a little sunshine possible later today. Possible partial clearing tonight, and even a few flurries, lingering tomorrow morning, sun tomorrow, it will be a cold day despite the sunshine, temperatures into the low to mid20s, as we go into friday morning, clouds increase again, a cold front heads our way friday, notice west of cincinnati friday morning, flurries and snow showers. Friday, the chance looks to be a little higher, south of cincinnati, for a few snow showers on friday, and that will lead to bitter cold air, as the front comes through on friday, we are in the 18s, low in the Single Digits, and back to 27 on sunday, a chance for some snow returns by late day sunday. Snow showers, breezy, cold, 19 in wilmington, 29 in george town, snow showers coming to an end in northern kentucky. 21 out of alexandria, part sparta, and the can cold showers end, only up on 18 in brookville. Dipping into the lower teens by tomorrow morning, 24 early flurries tomorrow, and close to 30 friday, our next trouble spot could come sunday night into monday, thats when we could be looking at more accumulating snow as we get back on into the 30s early next week. Flurries across the area, most of the area, there are some exceptions in some areas we will see pockets of slightly heavier snow showers. One of those pockets has been moving along northern boone county stretching right across the river over toward delhi, and into downtown cincinnati now crossing toward covington coming down just a little bit harder or so, you may get a little bit of a dusting from that snow shower. Another one that is heavier, down around brooksville, you can see enhancement with radar with a red cause or brighter. For the most part, they are flurries, light know snow showers, occasionally you get in a pocket of some snow that is a little bit heavier. That will put a little bit of a dusting. You will see this around through the course of the morning, because of that a Winter Weather advisory will go through 10 00. Theres a heavier snow shower over covington and well, you can cant even see the hardly the city of sin as we cincinnati as we look from the river, 16 degrees, west winds at 8, a windchill of just five and that is the story, single digit windchills, even zero at wilmington. Ohio of Governor John Kasich good morning, perry. Reporter good morning to you, john. Some people say its the way that gorch or john a Governor John Kasich handled himself, and his brun Brown Campaign and kept things positive in the public. Its a move voters seemed to appreciate. Negative about politicians than democrats in New Hampshire. Nearly half of voters in the republican primary made up their time in the half week. He hopes voters in the Granite State are quote, fed up with the negative. He then went on to say he is working toward changing the spirit of america. We never went negative, because we have more good to sell than to spend our time [applause] [ cheering ] and maybe, just maybe, a time when clearly change is in the air, maybe, just maybey were maybe were turning the page on a darker a american politics, because today the light over came the darkness.
