Paul prep School Student who was convicted of sexually assaulting a classmate is now on vermonts sex offender registry. Owen labrie was sentenced to a year in jail but remains free on bail while he appeals. Mike cronin joins us live now with more on what this means. Reporter after his conviction, labries attorneys filed to prevent him from being required to register as a sex offender but were unsuccessful. The 20yearold had to register immediately in his home state and that process is now done and the registry paid shows a picture of labrie taken yesterday. His location is listed as his home town in vermont where hes staying with his parents. Hes following a curfew during the appeals process which could take years. Prosecutors said labrie learned a then 15 lured a then 15yearold freshman into an area of the school and sexually assaulted her. In a mixed verdict jurors found him guilty of a felony charge of prohibited use of a computer and misdemeanor Sexual Assault charges. While the appeals process is ongoing the judge said that the appeal is only for the suspended felony sentence of three and a half to seven years and that labrie will still have to serve a year for the misdemeanor sex assault. Labrie will be able to apply to be removed from the registry 15 years after serving his sentence. Jennifer the man who needed guilty to his involvement in a deadly crash that killed his girlfriend now says it was caused by a defect in the car. Robert pitts pleaded guilty in 2013 to several charges including negligent homicide. He was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison. But his family now says they have uncovered evidence that the car he crashed was part of a recall, a problem with the ignition switch could cause the engine to shut off. Their only responsibility is to make sure everything was filed properly where the secretary of states office. The challenge to Bernie Sanders run for president in the democratic primary came by phone from san francisco, where republican andy martin said the senator from vermont is in fact an independent and should not be allowed to run as a democrat. They want to talk out of both sides of their mouth. Bernie wants to be an independent on one side of the street and he wants to be a democrat on the other side of the street. Reporter the argument was made today to the Ballot Law Commission, where martin cited a federal website that lists sanders as an independent. But those representing sanders today said all of his paperwork was in order when he filed as a democrat and the state party recognizes him as such. Take a look at the fair skies from sunup to sundown there were some clouds that did build in from the west northwest through the midday and afternoon, but it did remain dry except in the north country. There you can see the snow showers hitting portions of the great north woods into the Mount Washington valley, outside of that it does remain snowfree here in the month of november. How about those snow stats for concord in november . Of course none so far this november. The average snowfall this month is 4 inches, and the record set way back in 1921 at 20. 1 inches of snow. Last november we all recall the big snowstorm just prior to thanksgiving day, 12. 9. By the way, one out of every four novembers we go snowless.
