There are several reports that mayor de blasio has orred nypd to review overhaul security at more than 600 homeless shelters across the city. Those shelters will reportedly see more of a Police Presence in and around the location. Its about enhancing security. That homeless man we just talked with says he sleeps on the streets because the shelters are so unsafe. Inside these shelters, the majority of them is a lot of crime, of course. And theres a lot of people that havent had the proper training. Like broken households needs s s leading to people being in shelters. Reporter there have been extremely Violent Crimes of recent weeks including a fatal stabbing of a woman and her two young daughters according to police at a Staten Island facility. Tracie, thank you. Happening now, three Chicago Police officers who were wounded in a shootout are recovering. All three officers are part of a narcotics tactical team. Police say they saw a drug deal between a man and a woman. They went to confront those suspects. After a chase, the man shot at the officers and hit all three. Officers returned fire and killed the suspect. The woman was also arrested. In maryland, officials now say it was friendly fire that killed a Police Officer during a shootout at a police station. Officials say a gunman started firing at the Prince Georges County headquarters on sunday. One of the six officers who fired back shot fellow officer meanwhile, three brothers are charged in that attack. Police say michael ford was the gunman that his brothers alijah and malik were with him. Eight firefighters injured on a job are expected to be okay. Cell phone video shows them fighting a fire in germantown, maryland. All of a sudden, a wall collapses trapping the firefighters. Police and rescue cruise rushed in to pull them out.
