Some of the youngest children, in fact, in the Newark School system will be the first ones to be tested. This is one. Schools, one of 30 buildings, in fact, in newark that had elevated levels of lead and we know testing will begin quite immediately. Newark City Health Officials will do the testing with help from the state. Drinking fountains at schools like the one were at, branchbrook and other schools, theyve been turned off. The Newark Health director says tests will begin immediately with 2,000 toddlers who get Early Childhood care. Once the younger kids are tested, other students will be as well if their parents want Newark Schools will release more information on lead testing today. For parents we talked to, they said this is a no brainer. They support the testing that will be done. Its a problem. But i believe its something we will overcome.
