Its cooler towards the east end, montauk is checking in at 48 at this hour. These numbers are a couple of degrees milder than they were yesterday. Were going to see the trend towards milder weather continue through the weekend. Areawide, its relatively quiet at the moment. The low temperatures are going to get cold, especially northwest where well see them drop into the upper 20s. With cold temperatures like this, the National Weather service has issued a frost advisory across interior new jersey. So we could see a little frost on the agrees grassy surfaces tomorrow. Be aware of that. We are expecting quiet weather across the tristate area for much of the evening. High pressure is in control. Thats not only keeping us nice and dry, its keeping much of the northeast quiet. High pressure is going to keep williamsport to pittsburgh and down towards d. C. Even towards the great lakes. There are three areas of low pressure were keeping an eye on. One is situated towards the southeastern states. One is located across the pacific northwest, which i alluded to yesterday thats going to cause significant weather across that part of the nation. Well be hearing that over the next couple of days. Were taking a close look at this low to the east. Its not making much movement. Usually we see the movements move from west to east and then offshore. This low sits kind of it spins just to the east. Its blocking things from making progress from west to east. This area of High Pressure is going to stay where it is, which is good news for us. Were in store for a nice stretch of weather for a couple of days which will take us through the weekend and next week. Warm temperatures are sitting to the west. Highs will be in the 70s in kansas city and minneapolis. Well get readings like these into the northeast as we go into the beginning of next week. In the meantime, a chilly night tonight. She performed for patients at the Pediatric Cancer Center at new York Presbyterian Columbia University medical center. Theyre so happy and cute and everything. Then you hear about these struggles and theyre so young. Its very eye opening. Your heart and so do the childrens words, written on construction paper. It says never look back. Its something weve known a long time. Only if the last five to 10 years have we been able to harness that and get new cures for children. Of chemo or radiation or maybe taking pills. You dont think of your immune system fighting it. We talk about the immune system has the ability to find cancer. In chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, with decades of research, weve improved the cure rates, but theyre nonspecific. Theyre not just targeting the cancer. Theyre doing harm to the normal tissue. What we want to do is provide better cures and cures that dont have longlasting impacts. When patients get chemotherapy, it affects their entire body. Why not target the cancer and get rid of the bad cells . Alison amazing. So many people think weve come so far but will we find a cure . Do you think well see it in our lifetimes . Its a big question. The thing about cancer, its so so theres so many different types. I dont think theres one cure because theres over 100 types.
