Donald trump doesnt know how to i just beat 16 people and im beating her. Reporter this afternoon, bad news for Hillary Clinton. Reuters news reporting her campaign has been hacked. Its unclear what information was accessed. This comes after other Cyber Attacks on the Democratic Congressional campaign before the convention. The fbi is said to be investigating this latest incident. Im sure well hear more. Ernie sure of that. Thank you very much. Every time you turn around, theres something new going on. Its incredible. Let me start with this. Was the Democratic Convention a success . It was a success. I think even republicans have to agree it was a well orchestrated event. They started out shaky with the email release from wikileaks. The chair of the Democratic Party had to step aside. Once they moved beyond that, if you can call it that, they had a really, really strong rollou they were able to make the points they wanted to make and they were able to contrast themselves to the republicans who had gone the week earlier. Ernie they had a lot together. Now that both are over, do you think people have a clearer picture of each candidate and what they stand for and what their vision is . Yeah. I do. I think in particular, Hillary Clinton, she got a lot of support from fellow democrats who went out as surrogates and said this is who she is. This is the real Hillary Clinton. I think everybody who paid attention knows this is what Hillary Clinton is about. This is what she wants to do. And these are the people who support her. Donald trumps case a little different. He didnt have as much support. He had some, but a lot of the leading republicans were absent, including leading senators absent from the convention. But he did have the strong support of his family and some republicans. I dont know that we have as much of a sense as to where he stands politically because he has not been as forthcoming ernie if you start looking at polls, research, people making comments, they say Democrats Campaign optimistic, inclusive. Republicans, fear and change. Is that a Fair Assessment . Its the assessment democrats want you to leave with. If thats where peoples head is, the democrats have won this battle over the conventions. They wanted to paint the republicans as dark as midnight, the democrats have tried to grab the mantle. They did a good job. Ernie we have 102 days. A lot of debates are coming up, rallies, demonstrations. All kinds of things. How important will the debates be . The first debate is going to be fascinating and critically important, the first time we see these two head to head and the first time both are forced to answer really tough questions without being surrounded in Donald Trumps case by other candidates and in extent. Those will be critical. We should have more of them and i think the more you have, the better the American Public has a chance to see these two in action. Ernie battleground swing states. Thats what were looking at. It was no big surprise that the republicans spent their time at the convention in ohio. A must win for them. Democrats in pennsylvania. Theyll be spending their time there, coming to new york to raise money and going to california to raise money. States. Ernie will the Vice President s play any role or have any impact . I think they do around the edges. I dont think people vote based on the Vice President. I think they can help or hurt. I think the hurt is what they can do more of. I dont think either one of these will hurt their campaigns. But they could. Ernie we have a lot to look forward to. An exciting 102 days. Ernie thanks for joining us. Theyll decide if any charges should be brought against the officer who shot him earlier this month. This morning, officials in newtown, connecticut, gave a tour of the new sandy hook elementary school. The building replaces the one where 20 first graders and six educators were massacred in december 2012. The School Includes a gated driveway, stateoftheart video windows and doors. The kids are past excitement. Theyre in awe of the space as are the adults, though it is a touching moment the first time for many. Its the first time theyve returned in 31 2 years. Ernie the school was built on the same plroperty but not the old footprint. Rick scott says four residents with zika likely contracted the virus through mosquito bites in the area. More than 1600 zika infections have been reported in the united states. The four patients in florida would be the first not linked to travel outside the u. S. Mainland. Theres a front sloping back to the ohio valley and another disturbance moving along it. This will slowly move to our west as time goes along. This moisture has to end up here. Thats mostly starting late tomorrow afternoon, particularly tomorrow night. Its going to stick around off and on on sunday. 70s tomorrow. Out the door in the city, 60s in the suburbs. The sun the first half of Western Areas will see showers by 1 00, but Late Afternoon into tomorrow night the rest of the area gets it. Thats about 1 00. There are the showers and storms in pennsylvania. They roll across the rest of the area by Late Afternoon. Sunday, with the system just to the west, more scattered showers and storms around. When kathy became pregnant, i took care of her and i delivered elice. Reporter following her father and grandfather, she is an obgyn at winthrop university. She went into labor the day i we delivered her together. Reporter three generations of doctors delivered three generations from this family. Ive been seeing dr. Sherwin since i was a teenager. Hes a part of our family. And for him and his daughter to bring my son into the world. Reporter its a blessing for them. I met dr. Sherwin after we started dating. Reporter and for she and her dad. Its not our first delivery weve done together but its one of the most special. As a cares . No big deal. For me its special to see my daughter following my footsteps, following my fathers footsteps and delivering babies.
