Already have a couple of inches and theres more storms heading towards Ashtabula County. So i put a tracker on this towards jefferson at about 4 15. You know, the ground is just not ready for all this heavy rain. And this isnt the only setup for it. So over the course of the next couple of hours, well continue to watch these storms funnel through sometimes over the exact same area over and over again. You can see another little small setup towards our south heading tos so living in wellington about 4 4 13, just a little bit. If this sticks together, which it probably will towards brunswick, which ultimately will put it into Cuyahoga County. It can be another interesting setup. Giving it a wider look, you can see right now, same scenario from the last couple of days. Same intensity. Youll be looking at heavy rains, downpour of rain. We just dont need it over the last couple of days. Look at our rain totals so far. Some areas up towards 3. And theres more coming for this weekend. Wait until you see the amount of rain we could see saturday and sunday. Ill explain that coming up. Mark all right, beth, thank you. So cleveland 19 spent the day and all of those communities still cleaning up from the storms from tuesday night. Denise zarrella live now in cleveland heights. Some still without power there. Denise. Denise yes, there are plenty of people that are still without power here. I want to show you this scene that youll see all over cleveland heights. Let me cleanup has happened. But youll still see tree branches everywhere. 200 people still without power. We just met a mom and her small children to be without power for a week. Imagine coming home from your Summer Vacation to this. When we came home, we found our neighbors tree had smashed their garage and smashed our pulled our power lines down. Reporter shan says she and her kids are facing no power for a week because the damage is so severe. Some other neighbors are without power also because of the downed tree. My neighbor is letting me use their help to get away from the noise of the tree company chipping all the wood theyre cutting down and charging our phone so that we can call people. And were just buying ice and putting stuff in ice boxes. Denise she said shes going to see if they can help or help put her up for a week. There were also some businesses that were hit hard by the power outage. Im standing just across the street here from zagaras marketplace. They lost thousands of dollars worth of wood. Were going to take you inside there for 6 00. For now were asking questions and getting answers here in cleveland heights. Denise zarrella, cleveland 19. Romona denise, thank you. Right now about 4,000 people ac across Cuyahoga County are still families is what is still good in that fridge and what is not. Well, dan deroos is here with some ideas to help keep you safe. Dan. Dan weve been using the usda as a reference on this. Just to show you, this is the live power outage map from first energy cleveland heights. Take a look. Thats more than 50 homes that are still without power. And some of them arent going to get it back until tomorrow around noon. So thats obviously an issue. Lets talk about what you need to pitch and when. Were talkingut that gets above 40 degrees. If its in your fridge and youve been able to keep it closed but itsforever. If it gets above 40 degrees for two hours, here is what we need to throw out. Meat, poultry, seafood, basically all of this stuff. The usda is saying you should discard. Were talking any raw or leftover meat. Anything thats thawed, poultry, tuna, shrimp, egg salad, stuff like that. I know it seems like common you had old pizza in there. If it gets above 40 degrees, thats when some of the bacteria is going to start to grow. Thats going to make you sick. Dairy, the same thing. The only thing on this list thats safe butter or margarine even if it gets above 40 degrees. It will be fine. Everything else on this list, you need to pitch. Lets talk about your freezer. Stuff thats frozen. Now, if it still contains the ice crystals and you get your power , theres still ice crystals in there, it is still safe. Theyre telling you to refreeze it. But theyre saying when it comes to fish, shell fish, breaded seafood products, youre going to lose flavor there. If it gets again, this is the threshold. That 40 degrees. If it gets above that for over two hours, you just have to pitch it. Its not worth taking the risk. It will probably make you sick. Mark. Mark all right, dan, thank you. The weather pattern in place. Its kind of repeating for the last couple of days. You should note that the weekend plans, you might want to head indoors or at least have a backup plan. Were still going to be kind of in the same scenario with scattered showers and storms. But at times were going to experience some heavy rain. And so this is like two inches per storm. So if you get a couple of storms over and over again, were going to have some problems this weekend. Saturday and sunday looking to be bad. Not going to be raining the whole time. But when you get enough rain and enough storms coming through, well be worrying about some flooding situations, possibly flash flooding situations. And in the meantime, were dealing with the current. The here and now. Doppler max. It looks like a disease when its lit up like this. Place. Out towards seneca county, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for you. North canton just coming out of it as this point as this is heading a little bit to the northeast. Hello alliance. Youll be on the radar for a little bit with some downpours. So all of this still heading in the same direction. Were technically still dealing with the same system that weve been seeing for a while. Over the weekend, what happens is we get a front coming in from the northwest. And the cooler air, slightly with the more moist air that weve continued to kind of funnel in over the last couple of days. And so thats going to make for this weekend to be not maybe in the 90s. So maybe theyll be a little relief there. But unfortunately this weekend, we could see a lot of rain. Future view for the next couple of hours, i know theres plans. You can get it going. You can see the showers and storms continuing. Here is 5 00 coming right up 71 up towards mansfield.
