So much on the line. The control of congress in washington. The scaffolding there on the capitol. Perhaps a metaphor for whats to come tonight. Will there be a makeover . Republicans already control the house. The big question tonight, will they get control of the senate . Meantime tonight, at the white house, the president is home this evening. Hes done very few campaign stops. Republicans have made this election about the president. Seeing his lowest job Approval Ratings since he started. Take a look at the map tonight. The 16 Key Senate Races to watch. Here is the magic number. Six. Republicans need to pick up just six senate seats and they take control of the senate, too. Lets hit the demographics. The direction of the country, 65 of americans say we are on the wrong track. That is 12 points higher than when president obama got reelected. This is ten years in a row where americans say we are going in the wrong direction. Theres anger at washington theres anger at the federal government. A lot of anger at the president. Look here. You talked about the president s job approval numbers. 54 disapprove of the job the president is doing right now. Thats why you didnt see him on the campaign trail. Well see how that plays out. Obviously, the result of what happened here in colorado will be a good indication for the 2016 president ial election. Were hearing that turnout is strong. You can see it right here over my shoulder.
