The accused gunman is the next door neighbor who is already accused of sexually abusing one of those two little girls. To and night hes behind bars on a Million Dollars cash bail. It hit me more today than it did yesterday. Reporter early yesterday morning this man whose name we are withholding was inside his mobile home here in downingtown. Authorities say his next door neighbor, 63yearold Douglas Kohen walked up and opened fire through his window. When the mans two young daughters were asleep right on the other side. He grabbed his children and called 911. They have them all marked. You got the apparently thats the first shot, the low one, thats the second, this is the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth one is up here um back in january kohen was arrested and charged with sexually abusing one of the girls who was inside the trailer he allegedly fire shots into. He had posted 10 percent of his 25,000 bail and was due to be in court on those charges on wednesday. He shouldnt have been out. And if he was out, he shouldnt have access to a gun and if he was out, he shouldnt have been living next to where the child would be so we are diging into that right now but he should not have been out on bail. Reporter the shots kohen allegedly fired went right through the mobile home. Three of them ended up going into another home on the other side where a family of five was sleeping. I heard six rapid fires of gun. Called my neighbor and then called 911. Reporter Police Caught up with kohen later in west goshen township after his car flipped over. He still had the weapon with him. The girls father says his children are traumatized. Hes glad kohens bail is now set at a Million Dollars. Oh, yeah, a Million Dollar bail. He aint getting out. Hes going rot in jailly i hope he dies in jail. Thats how i feel right now. Reporter now, on top of those earlier child abuse charges, kohen is now charged with attempted murder witness intimidation and related offenses. It wants to extend to the can king of prussia mall and the Valley Forge Convention center. Right now the only Public Transit that searches the area is a bus line. That fourth youngster is kind of at the center of this whole thing because he allegedly uttered racial epithets and strong threats of violence and that same youngster was at the center of a gun related controversy about two years ago. 13yearold amir brown a student at penns Grove Middle School says hes afraid that a fistfight he was involved in two weeks ago may develop into something bigger. I feel threatened in how he used the nword to me and how he would say things youre not supposed to say as a climbed the scuffle involved brown and two other classmates against another penns Grove Middle School student who is in the news two years ago. That youngster was 10 years old at the time when his father posted this photo of a Child Holding a. 22 caliber rifle. It was determined that the boys father did not commit a crime but that photo made headlines across the can country. Fast forward to this recent incident where tyisha santiago says the threats of violence before and during the scuffle has her concerned. Im scared that my kids they walk home how about their dad comes out and he tries to do something to my son. Reporter but the School District has an entirely different take on what happened. In fact, officials here say everyone involved in this case has been disciplined any reports of threats involving weapons has been grossly exaggerated. School superintendent sent action news a statement reading in part the incident did not trigger any of our normal security and safety protocols that are put in place when theres even the appearance of a legitimate or credible threat against the safety our staff and students. Now, we spoke with sever penns Grove Middle School parents. Most of whom say theyre very happy with the way the School District handled this situation. Still, the parents of the other three students involved in this case are pushing for the fourth student to be expelled. Doctors who performed the surgery and the woman who has been given the chance to experience pregnancy spoke today at a News Conference in ohio. This is incredible stuff, ali. Health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman here with more. Reporter this is part of a clinical trial. The procedure has been done successfully in other can countries. Today we heard from the first woman in the u. S. About her journey he and this is just the start. applause . Reporter the 26yearold woman identified only by her first name lindsey and her husband joined doctors at the Cleveland Clinic today just 12 days after her history making surgery. Lindsey has functioning ovaries but was born without a uterus. And says when she was 16, doctors told her she would never be able to carry her own biological children. It was something she refused to accept. From that moment on i have prayed that god would allow me the opportunity to experience pregnancy and here we are today at the beginning that of journey. Reporter a team of eight surgeons and many other Healthcare Professionals performed the nine hour operation. A uterus from a deceased donor was transplanted into lindseys pelvis. Blood vessels were connected, gynecological parts sutured and organs secured. Now doctors say as she recovers the uterus will mature. It will stimulate the uterus produce the lining of the uterus. The uterus is an amazing organ. Its basically on auto pilot. Reporter she has to wait about a year and then try in vitro fertilization or ivf to become pregnant. Uterus transplant is not just about a surgery and from moving a uterus from here to there. Its about having a healthy baby. Reporter of course none of this would be possible without the anonymous donor and her family. They have provided me with a gift that i will never be able to repay and i am beyond thankful for them. Reporter like other transplants shell need to take medication to prevent her body from rejecting the organ but unlike other transplants this is temporary. The goal is to allow women to have one or two babies and then remove the uterus. Lindsey is one of 10 women in the trial.
