Police officer from chester was shot following a chase with two armed suspects. One of the suspects is now dead this all happened at 4 00 f the parker and union streets. Reporter well, walter there is a lot going on here at the scene, right the now, there are a crowd of people, standing behind me, watching, as police, processed the crime scene, police were told, were in pursuit of suspects and apparently that pursuit ended here. After that pursuit ended, a gun battle ensued, shots fired, and leaving one officer in Critical Condition, and we believe one suspect in Critical Condition, however, from what we can tell on the scene, there are also, at least one, deceased individual, that we believe would be a suspect. Now six abc, action news, obtained exclusive video of this shooting. Lets as show you what happened, moments before that shooting, right now. [natural sound] witness shot that video of the officer being shot as he approached a vehicle and opened the door, the witnesses and had to duck for cover as they heard gunfire. Many shots were fired. We stopped that video to show you shots of the scene what we do know is an officer is, in critical, a suspect is in critical and we believe at least one deceased individual, in a car, behind me. Now this all unfolded after a Police Pursuit ended here, around third street here, in chester. In other news an Airline Pilot created a security concern today after allegedly leaving his gun, inside of a bathroom at Philadelphia International airport. Someone actually grabbed that weapon and decided to dump it a short time later. Details from action News Reporter Trish Hartman who joins us live from the airport in a few minutes, trish . Reporter walter, just minutes a ago we found out from Philadelphia Police that an airport janitor has been arrested and charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and other charges. Police say that janitor was the only person in the rest room while the pilots bag with that gun inside, was unattended and that janitor was captured on surveillance video, entering that rest room. Now some say this was an honest mistake by the pilot. Many people found the search for that weapon this morning unsettling police say it was minutes from the time the pilot left the public rest room in the secure section of the terminal b, until he realized he forgot his bag. But it was too late. Bag, with his gun inside, was gone. Immediately, the pilot flagged down the nearest Airport Police officer and reported the firearm was missing. Reporter police say Republic Airways pilot was authorized to carry gun as part of the federal flight deck officer program. The gun somehow turned up about to second hours later in the janitors supply closet next to the rest room. Sixteen flights were delayed for about an hour while planes were searched. Information was based on safety of the flying public to delay flights to make sure in flights took off, with a dangerous item on board. Reporter Law Enforcement officer and traveler was relieved to hear that the gun was locked in a faa approved container. But still, as a whole they need to tighten up the program. Im sure there are standard in that program that werent met. Maybe they need to review the whole program. Reporter investigators say no one was ever in any danger during the search, but passengers we spoke with were surprised to hear that a pilot would leave a bag unattended. You would think, somebody that is a a pilot, that is in the airport, who flies all the time, would have a higher awareness to make sure that this incident doesnt happen. Definitely should be reprimanding or there should be some reenforcement of the policies, because, again, anyone could have picked it up. Reporter now that janitors name has not yet been released and police say the gun was found inside a trash bag inside that closet we reached out to the Republic Airways regarding the starred us of the pilot and we have in the heard back. Live from Philadelphia International the airport Trish Hartman channel six action news. Authorities in upper darby are looking for the person who shot a man and then left them in the streets. It happened in the 500 block of timber lane road at 1 00 p. M. Offices arrived at the scene and found a 35 yearold victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rush to the hospital. No further information has been released about this case at this time. From our new jersey news room a pair of fisherman found a body, in the mulika river in washington township, Burlington County, this morning. Investigators are not commenting on the cause of death, is there also no word tonight from the victims identity. Also in new jersey take a look at this scene in maple shade a truck hauling steel, slammed into the side of a house on the 600 block of styles avenue. Truck driver told police that the traffic light was turning yellow when he was going through the intersection when he trashed into the other car. He says the sheer weight of his load made it impossible to come to a quick stop. Woman inside the home was in the kitchen when truck plowed in the home but she was not injured. Officials are still trying to determine if the house will need to be torn down. In delaware a collision involving a truck and a tractor trailer ended with one person killed and two others seriously injured. It happened on route 301 and strawberry lane in middletown. Accident investigators say the driver of the dodge dakota pulled in the path of the big rig. Impact knock tractor trailer on to its side and spun pickup truck around several times. The front passenger in the the pick up, a 17 yearold boy, was killed. A 17 yearold girl riding in the back seat and driver of the pick up were hospitalized with serious injuries. Fire fighters in Chester County remain on the scene on the barn fire in cochranville. This is an amish dairy pharma long the 600 block of street road. Feed being stored inside that barn apparently caught fire and ended up destroying much of the structure as you can see. Were told all of the animals inside were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. A community in south jersey gathered today in support of fallen state trooper sean cullen.
