A medical call turned into something much more serious in West Philadelphia this morning. Medics arrived to find a man in his 20s shot dead inside a car. Action News ReporterAnnie Mccormick is live on the 1600 block of north red field street with the full story. Annie. Reporter and matt right now we can hear family and friends distraught as police to remove the body of the victim from the vehicle. Theyre still trying to figure this all out and figure out a motive. What we do know is that neighbors called 911 after seeing the victim in the vehicle that was still running. They say that at first they thought he was sleeping or possibly dead but they thought it was from a medical emergency. They didnt think that he was shot. It was then that they called 911 and medics arrived scene. Well, this is video of investigators on the scene processing a crime scene, also homicide detectives, you can see them combing through the block looking for evidence. Police found one projectile in the noor of the passenger seat of the vehicle. Theyre still looking for more ballistic evidence in the car. They will be able to do that now that they have removed the body. Now, police say they believe the victim lives on this block and was borrowing his friends white dodge charger, thats the vehicle you can see police surrounding that vehicle. When neighbors approached the vehicle it was running with the drivers side window down. They thought he was asleep or possibly dead. Police do not know, though, how long he had been in that vehicle before 911 was called. Were getting information that he may have been in the vehicle in that position for several hours. Thats just some preliminary investigation that were getting. However, this is an investigation in progress and detectives are on scene and theyre going to interview theyll knock on every door in this mainly residential block, theyll knock on every door and see he if any of the neighbors saw or heard anything. Reporter theyre also hopefully going to rely on some video cameras, Surveillance Video that they hope was in those cameras that they found on one end of the block. At this hour theyre also still taking down some family members of the victim to homicide to talk to them to get a better idea of what the victim was doing leading up to the time that he was discovered. New this Morning Police in Gloucester County are looking for a thief who claims to work for the gas company. Take a look at the sketch of the suspect. On april 1st, a woman in Franklin Township says she was in the bathroom and heard footsteps in her home. She came out to check on the noise and found the suspect as depicted in this sketch. The man claimed to be from the gas company but the woman ordered him out of her home. As she did another man exited from her bedroom. After the pair left the woman said she discovered several pieces of jewelry were missing. A neighbor described seeing a gray van or suv driving around at the time. If you think you have information call the Franklin Township detective bureau. Police in Voorhees TownshipCamden County are looking for two suspects wanted for an armed robbery. It happened early sunday morning at the valero gas station on route 73. The driver pointed a happened gun at the station attendant and demanded money. The district says the policy is needed to comply with antidiscrimination laws. Public schools in cherry hill have already adopted similar policies. A judge sentenced the White South Carolina Police officer to three years of proprobation for shooting and killing a black driver after a police chase. A judge has ruled Eminent Domain can be used to seize land for a protective dune project in margate. It was the second major ruling in favor of the state Environmental Protection department as it tries to assem pell strips of privately owned beach front land to build dunes. Margate says its wooden pluck head is sufficient to protect it from storms. Officials in the beach town sued the state trying to block this project.
