Were still stuck thunder same gray damp pattern. Rain may be not quite as widespread nor as inanes most spots but we have rain in southeastern pennsylvania, a little bit towards trenton and a couple sprinkles down through the heart of south jersey. Cape may getting hit with a temporary heavier about the of rain and then every now and then you see some yellows mixed in in Chester County and areas close to philadelphia a little bit more of a broken pattern up north but cloudy cool and damp and obviously the clouds really socking us in. Were probably going to maintain mainly cloudy skies just the way we did yesterday. 52 degrees now, a little cooler than this time yesterday, 52 in allentown, 52 in philadelphia, 49 trenton, 51 degrees in wilmington and line in millville so its jacket weather once again and on the bus stop might be a little bit damp in some neighborhoods with some of those showers between 6 oclock and 8 oclock. 50 degrees is more or less where that temperature is going to hold. In the afternoon pretty similar to yesterday. Cloudy cool just about any time especially in the morning during the rush hour and then again during the afternoon there is the chance of an off and on shower popping through and high temperatures are going to be pretty cool today. Well stop at about 58 degrees for your high at 3 oclock. This pattern continues through the end of the work week karen and then things do begin to change a bit for the week. Lets check out the accident right on the schuylkill expressway and we see it currently blocking the ramp here from the schuylkill westbound to the vine eastbound. Looks like its just temporary at this point while they try to clean up this accident but you can see some cars stacked behind it waiting to use this ramp but its currently blocked on the schuylkill westbound the ramp to the vine eastbound. On 95 we have the construction. We see penndot with the arrow board in Delaware County i95 northbound at the blue route as you try to head towards the airport youre dealing with this construction here blocking the two right lanes and the offramp but we expect this to be cleared within the next half hour so that should wrap things up. In exton Chester County looking at 202 at the 30 bypass construction has been blocking the left lane but in the process of clearing out at this point but you kind of get the idea looking at this weve got some raindrops on the camera lens. The roads are damp. Problems already like this one in monroe township. Weve got a problem here with a downed pole due to an accident that may shut down 322. Thats a big closure here in Gloucester County. 322 is blocked right near 641, thats high street. Stick to glassboro cross keys road as your alternate. We expect it to be kind of a tough morning commute matt and tam. Thank you karen. And this is breaking this morning. Philadelphia Police Officers opened fire on suspects in two separate parts of the city just hours apart. One of those people who was shot has died from the injuries. We have Live Team Coverage this morning. Katherine scott is covering the shooting scene in southwest philadelphia. But were starting with the deadly officer involved shooting is. Lets go over to Annie Mccormick live at 63rd and overbrook. Good morning, annie. Good morning, tam and matt. And at this scene police say they opened fire when the driver of a suspicious vehicle ignored their command to stop and kept driving towards those Police Officers. Police say that the man that they did shoot, the driver of that vehicle, appears to not have been armed with a gun but they do consider him armed because he was driving a vehicle towards those Police Officers. Well, take a look at this video. This is video from the scene earlier this morning. This all unfolded around 1 00 a. M. This is at 63rd and overbrook. It is that vehicle with the passenger door opened that is the suspicious Vehicle Police from the 19th district tried to stop. According to police, plainclothes officers in an unmarked vehicle reportd that van as suspicious and called for a marked Police Cruiser to assist them. Initially they tried to pull over the vehicle, headed eastbound on lancaster avenue. Allegedly the vehicle hit several parked cars on lancaster. Police followed the vehicle to drexel, 54th street then this area of 63rd and overbrook. It was there they say the vehicle would not pull over and circled the block. Both unmarked and marked Police Vehicles surrounded the suspicious vehicle with lights and sirens on. Then officers approached on foot. The drivers did not listen to commands to stop and was driving towards those Police Officers when one of the plainclothes officers from the unmarked vehicle fired four shots at the driver who was hit in the chest. They later found out that that driver was not armed with a gun. Now, police transported him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police officers have remained out here on the scene. Theres still crime scene tape up at this time. This is still very early in this investigation. Since this is a Fatal Shooting that involves Police Officers theres still a lot of work to be done. We did see numerous detectives Walking Around the area trying to gather if there was any witness accounts and also getting all of those statements from the Police Officers involved. Also at this hour theyre still trying to identify the man that was shot and killed by police. Theyre still working on that. Were expected to learn more details later in the morning. Now for more on the other policeinvolved shooting overnight lets turn to Katherine Scott live at police headquarters. Good morning, katherine. Reporter good morning, tam. Werent man was slot in the leg. Hes in stable condition in the hospital. Police say the officers opened fire after this man fired one shot at them. Lets go to that scene in southwest philadelphia. It was around 11 30 last night and police say 12th district officers were in there area of 53rd and grays ferry when they heard several shots. They saw a man approximately 40 years old. He was on the back porch shooting in the air. They approached him and told him to drop his weapon. Okay, well, the one man fired one shot at police according to authorities and Authorities Say thats when the officers fired back. One of the officers opened fire. The bullet hit the leg. And then went through the right leg and heres what police will to say about it. Male fires one shot at police. And one of the officers there fires twice at the offender striking him in the left leg, enters the left leg and then enters the right leg. Reporter there was another man in the house. He was taken to southwest detectives for questioning. At this point theres been no word of any injuries to those two officers. Were live at police headquarters, Katherine Scott, channel6 action news. Ive got some bad news for her. The fbi is joining Philadelphia Police to look for a man who robbed a bank in the Spring Garden section. The surveillance ick pictures were taken at the branch on the 2100 block of Spring Garden street yesterday afternoon. The man told the teller he had a gun and demanded money. He never showed a weapon but Police Believe he is armed and dangerous. There is a reward being offered in the case. And if youre up in the allentown area, youre also looking pretty damp with more to come. So, the at least first half of the morning rush hour looks pretty wet. Theres also a heavier cell down by cape may new jersey this morning. Only thats not going t to be there that much longer. The heavier stuff is off the coast. As we take a look outside we have cloudy skies and that includes the coast where we are looking at that rain popping through. And also a little bit cool out there. 52 degrees in philadelphia. Little cooler than it was yesterday. Winds still out of the east at 7 Miles Per Hour bringing in that cloud cover and that moisture. As we take a look at future tracker6, between now and 9 00 it looks like most of the area begins to see a lessening in the precipitation. Could still be a little drizzly up in the northern suburbs. We might still have some lingering showers. Then we get kind of a lull through the rest of the morning. By the time we get to 1 oclock you can see how the spotty showers are filling in once again getting up to 5 oclock theres still a little bit more of that around so i would expect roads for the evening commute to be maybe trying in some spots but in other cases still on the damp side and then later tonight at 11 00 a couple more sprinkles and showers around. Its going to be cloudy and cool again today, 50 by 8 oclock, 53 by 10 oclock, 55 by noon. And well only get a high of 58 sitting on that for a couple hours this afternoon. I think well have that around 3 oclock. Off and on spotty showers as you just saw. High temperatures cool from north to south again. Really not much different. 56 in allentown, a bunch of 58s as you go down through the i95 corridor toward the shore. And we have that cutoff low that i talked about yesterday thats going to continue to just slowly pass us by to the south over the next several days and it looks like thursday and friday are still going toby neath the clouds and still somewhat damp because of that low. As for tomorrow, possibly try in the morning but we are looking at the building in of more showers as we go through the day and that will continue into tomorrow night. The annual Living Flame Memorial Service acknowledges the sacrifices of those killed in duty. It will include family members of the citys fallen heroes. The fbi arrested a money had a admitted to contaminating food at several Michigan Grocery stores. The man spread a mixture of Hand Sanitizer water and rat poison on produce in open food bars at three grocery snores an arbor over the last few weeks. The fbi is trying to determine if other stores have been targeted. There are no reports of anyone getting sick. A second grader in texas fooled School Officials with a fake note but today shes not the only were unin trouble. He couldnt believe his sevenyearold daughter was able to use a note with no parent signature and miss spelled words to leave school on monday instead of staying in the after school program. The neighbor called him when rosa bella couldnt find a way inside her home. Deju took his concerns to the after school program. Staff showed him the fake note and one employee admitted yeah it does look suspicious. I understand maybe my daughter was in the wrong for writing this note in the first place but theyre adults. School Officials Say they do take student safety seriously and theyre reviewing procedures to ensure after school staff is properly trained in dismissal procedures. I think when she miss spelled bus as dust somebody might have set i dont think an adult wrote this. The d and the b. The accident was involving a tractortrailer and it was blocking the ramp from the schuylkill westbound to the vine eastbound but were watch something traffic start to move through. Things are looking better there. Lets get a shot of the roads. Its wet out there and weve been seeing problems and dont forget were going to have the left lane continue to be blocked in Fairmount Park until 6 30 this morning on kelly drive right near lemon hill so you want to watch for that construction until 6 30. Also construction out here on the northeast extension. Its northbound approaching lehigh valley. Theyre out there blocking the right lane. Outside live on i95 lets check on this construction. Yet another story brand new on action news. A pennsylvania couple is pushing for wrong way driving detection systems in the state. Ah they say the systems could have helped prevent the crash that killed their son three years ago. Rhode island has begun using the systems. They notify a driver who enter as an off ramp in the wrong direction with flashing signs and if the driver continues an alert is sent to
