Time for the action news traffic report. Weve got breaking news this afternoon on i95. Lets go live now to matt pelman in the action News Traffic Center with an upday. Reporter good good news things are looking up. As we look live at 95 these are the southbound lanes by cottman avenue and just up ahead just a bit ago from sky 6 we caught a huge vehicle fire in the southbound lanes. Chopper 6 was overhead here. This is the southbound side between cottman avenue and Bridge Street. You see the work truck there in flames but the firefighters got out there made pretty quick work of the situation. The fire now completely extinguished. Everything is out of the way and all southbound lanes are reopened. But as we come back out here live you can see the jam that were left with on the southbound side from woodhaven youre dealing with a lot of stopped traffic through this point approaching cottman down to the earlier vehicle fire scene approaching Bridge Street. So that southbound travel time of 40 minutes ideally should be 14. Nowhere close this afternoon but northbound you may have seen is even slower. Thats the gaper drain normal afternoon volume. Speeds like just 9 Miles Per Hour as you travel northbound by the betsy ross bridge. Also the crash we were watching in lower merion this afternoon on wynnewood road at winnowed road and another vehicle fire is on the new jersey turnpike in Chesterfield Township burlington county, southbound side just past exit seven for route 206 has the right lane blocked so youre looking at speeds in the 30s as you come down from 195 and if youre out and about in ac this afternoon watch out for a crash involving a pedestrian along indiana avenue at pacific avenue. Grab the ipad do the commuter report on this friday afternoon. Happy friday everybody and were checking slow speeds and people complaining of so much traffic on 95 southbound because of that earlier vehicle fire, now extinguished all lanes reopened but still a sizable delay. Well check it again brian and shirleen in the next half hour. Thank you matt. Still ahead isis claims an american hostage is dead but they say they didnt do it. The state Department Says it is deeply concerned and looking into the claim but so far there is no evidence to support it. If it is true, this would be the fourth american to die in isis captivity. Investigators in taiwan say the black boxes reveal more information into what may have caused the crash of that trans issue jet monday moments after takeoff an possible fatal mistake made in the cockpit. Just five seconds after the plane took off the crew knew something was wrong. After 10 seconds an engine warning signaled something is wrong with the right engine. Compounding that problem it turns out the crew may have shut down the wrong engine leaving no working engines. cause if they may have shut down the wrong engine, no power the airplanes essentially a glider. A glider that hit a taxicab on its way down. That crash killed at least 35 people. Eight are still missing and presumed dead. Shirleen. All right alicia, to business now. Stocks were lower to close the week. The dow dropped 60 points today. The nasdaq lost almost 21. The s p was down seven points. The drop came in spite of a strong january jobs report. That report showed the u. S. Added 257,000 jobs last month. It also showed wages jumped by the most in six years. And the news got even better since the labor Department Says the u. S. Economy added more jobs in november and december than previously thought. In fact, novembers numbers were the best in 17 years. The average hourly wage in january was also up 12 cents. Unemployment was actually up a tenth of a point but analysts say thats good news because more than a million americans started looking for work once again. And radio shack has made it official. After 94 years the Electronics Retailer has filed for bankruptcy. It plans to sell more than half of its stores to sprint. The other stores will close. The writing has been on the wall for radio shack for quite awhile. The company has no ability to pay its debt and its been closing hundreds of stores trying to stay afloat. The New York Stock Exchange stopped listing radio shack earlier this week. The Powerball Jackpot went up once again today, one day before tomorrows very big drawing. The action cam was in south philadelphia where we found people buying tickets for a shot at tomorrows 380 million prize. Thats about 257 million in cash if you take that cash option and that number is likely to rise before the drawing. You can see the numbers as they come out tomorrow night during action news at 11 oclock. It is time now for the accuweather forecast and quite a cold day it was today. I wish you could see adam joseph literally sprinting over here to get into position because hes crunching the very latest numbers. Yes, he is. Im just so excited how warm its going to get this weekend. My mind is kind of looking at a vacation for saturday and sunday but as we look at double scan live radar this is another beautiful picture not finding any precipitation but those temperatures still a little on the chilly side for the end of the week. Right now as we look at philadelphia the number at 32 degrees. 27 in allentown 30 degrees in trenton, 33 at the Atlantic City airport and as you head towards wilmington, as well as lancaster were right around in Freezing Point but again numbers have moved up since yesterday and theyll continue to move in that direction as we go through the upcoming weekend. 18 your wind chill right now in allentown, 22 in philadelphia, 22 in millville and you can see the trajectory of the winds. Right now theyre moving more out of the westnorthwest. Yesterday they were driving out of the northnorthwest. Were starting to get that wind shift. That will push warmer air in and definitely it will come in for the upcoming weekend. As you look tupper part of the atmosphere you can see the clouds moving in that trajectory coming in from the great lakes. That is a high pushes to the east well start to move that cloud cover and a front to the north and thats going to allow a little bit of sunshine through the upcoming weekend but also push those temperatures at if not above freezing by the end of the weekend. So, for tonight a lot of clouds and not as bitter as last night. 13 in allentown, 19 in trenton and toms river. Philadelphia 23. And millville will drop back to around 19 degrees. Future tracker will show at 10 oclock saturday morning there could be a little bit of snow showers breaking out into the poconos as that boundary pushes from the south to the north. By saturday evening, you can see the snow showers breaking up binghamton, burlington, were beginning to clear south of philadelphia and again that front is going the stall to our north on sunday afternoon at 3 oclock. Thats where theyll see any mixed rain or sleet or snow showers. We stay on the dry side through much of the weekend but eventually that boundary will collapse back down to the beginning of next week. But if youre heading up to the poconos cloudy, calm tomorrow there. Could be an early snow shower with temperatures in the 20s so good skiing conditions for saturday. And on sunday, more in the way of clouds and any mix that starts to arrive to the poconos wouldnt be until very late in the day or in the evening hours with temperatures between about 33 and 35 degrees. The exclusive accuweather fourday at 4 00 much milder tomorrow as we break into some peeks of sun. Up to 45 degrees and we say welcome back to the 50s here on sunday. 50 degrees in the city. Better than that in southern areas with a little sunshine and on sunday evening into sunday night some rain showers will develop. Light rain on monday for most at 42 degrees. Maybe mixing in the Lehigh Valley at a time before it turns breezy and sunny on tuesday with a temperature of 42 degrees. So, the next four days not bad temperaturewise compared to what weve been through this week. Yeah. But wait until you see that sevenday. Nothing like that. Another rollercoaster . Well see. Got to stick around for the next half hour. All right. Thank you, adam.
