Action News Reporter john rawlins has been following this case every step of the way. Hes live for us now innorristot got this case. John. Reporter that is that is correct, about 10, 15 minutes ago, two very different versions of reality presented to the jury today in closing arguments. The prosecution stuck with its theory which is of course the crime was motivated by revenge and that there attorney general was at the center of it. The defense countered way version of events saying that the grand jury leak was the work of rogue advisers, one supposedly upset with kane, the other upset with a man named frank fina. The attorney general they say according to the defense knew nothing of the plot. In his closing d. A. Kevin steele stuck to the prosecution theory that this was a simple crime that attorney general Kathleen Kane over jaw the illegal leaking of grand jury information that would appear in a daily news story to embarrass a former prosecutor frank fina. Joseph mcgettigan in private practice is former prosecutor. Pretty much put on the evidence they said they would during the course of the trial and kevin underlined a significant portions of the testimony. Reporter kanes legal team offered a radically different version of events and yes, kane wanted information concerning a 2009 investigated headed by fina in the press. It looked at naacp president y mondesire but the defense maintained kane knew nothing about a grand jury leak instead a kane attorney told the jury the prosecutions primary witnesses former kane Deputy Adrian king and kanes political consultant Joshua Morrow had their own reasons to leak the information and then lie about it. The alternative theory was somehow josh morrow and adrian king conspired together but without her knowledge to leak this information and then subsequently cover it up. It just didnt make a whole lot of sense. They tried. Thats what they had to do offer the jury something. Reporter again, the jury has the case at this point got it about 10 minutes to 4 00 it has a lot of evidence its going to have to sift. There was its going to have to decide if the attorney general of pennsylvania, Kathleen Kane, is guilty or not guilty. Live in norristown, john rawlins channel6 action news. Brian. This is the place you want to be sky6 live in hd we are down the shore in atlantic city, all of those beach umbrellas on the sand and theyre actually picking up a nice afternoon sea breeze with that south facing wind so the ocean a good place to be here on this monday. Temperatures outside right now so far in philadelphia climbing up to 93, same thing in wilmington. 94 in millville but you notice at the coast it is a touch cooler. Beach haven 85 and with that south facing wind in cape may coming in at 90, the upper 80s north and west of town for reading and allentown. Dewpoint numbers have really been causing us trouble over the past few days. This is why the humidity feels so oppressive. Right now weve got dewpoint temperatures in the upper 60s, lower 70s across the region. The humidity will start to lower. It wont be as oppressive as we get into the middle half of our work week. Heres satellite6 along with action radar. You can see weve got some moisture out across central and western sections of pennsylvania down through the ohio valley as well. Going have to track some of this moisture as it works its way eastward later on tonight because there could be a spotty shower mainly south of philadelphia. Otherwise, the warm and sticky weather certainly continues here on our monday. Thats the call from accuweather over the next 12 hours. Tracking a spotty thunderstorm really south of philadelphia. Otherwise, most spots stay dry. Dropping down to 78 in philadelphia, 73 in allentown, 76 in cape may. The lower 70s in lancaster for the overnight low. Fast forward into the day on tuesday and we have that heat index tracker because remember the excessive heat warning stays posted until tuesday evening, so as you wake up 88 clock in the morning that temperature already 87. Keep in mind our average high for this time of year is 86 degrees so well above that. The peak of the heat and the feelslike numbers, 2 oclock and 4 00 p. M. Respectively with temperatures then around 105 degrees. Thats how hot it will feel. Not only do we have the heat and the humidity, the Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of our region in a slight risk of finding some severe weather. Its really for portions in northeastern berks, lehigh, northampton counties, up through the poconos there is a slight risk of finding some drenching rain, gusty winds and the possibility of small hail. Future tracker6 showing you 6 oclock in the morning we could definitely find some showers and storms moving on through as that warm front lifts to the north. Overnight tonight and throughout the day on tuesday. And as we get into tuesday afternoon you could see weve got some spotty showers around the region especially for areas in south jersey, down across Cape May County as well. Well start to clear out by 7 30 on tuesday evening. Here is that four day at 4 00. You could see well the steamy weather continues on tuesday. Hot and not as humid, not as oppressive on wednesday for the ac air show and at 92 degrees, partly sunny on thursday, temperatures near 90 and 89 degrees as we get into friday.
