Action news has learned that the 19yearold shooting victim is the officers son. The 911 calls start coming in around 6 30 last night with reports of shots fired at a home on the 2700 block of taunton street. Police say inside, an offduty Philadelphia Police officer got into an argument with a 19yearold man who police later identified as his son. Apparently, they got in some type of scuffle, argument or something. The offduty either accidentally or inadvertently discharged his weapon. Were still trying to figure that out, whether it was intentional or not. Reporter the son is list the in critical but stable condition at aria toursdale hospital. Police say the gun that was fired during the argument was not the officers policeissued weapon. The officers younger son and another person were also inside during the shooting. They were not injured, but they have been taken to northeast detectives for questioning this afternoon. Right now the officer has not been charged because police say this is a policeinvolved shooting. There will certainly be a protocol to follow, and that means placing the officer on administrative duty while they work this investigation. Lets look at how things are going in the accuweather forecast. So far so good today. Adam Joseph Standing outside with rest of the story. Hey, adam. Were heating things up, especially after what you could call one of the most beautiful stretches of the Summer Season when you take look at the temperatures and the dew points, in fact. In philadelphia, thursday was just 81 degrees, below average. 45, 83. 79 on saturday. 82 on sunday. We started a warmup yesterday to 86 degrees. And presently right now, were also at 86, though. We topped off so far at 88 in philadelphia. 90 in wilmington. 88 in reading and that north. Northwesterly wind at the shore. Temperatures a bit cooler as the sea breeze is trying to take effect but also whats happening there is we have a lot of clouds scraping the coastline, holding those numbers back. And its all because of hermine, which, as you can see, it continues to drift to the west and now the clouds aring bag into philadelphia and rain is almost scraping the coastline because of hermine. In fact, this is one of the leading bands, the western side of hermine, that continues to pivot in from the east so it could scrape some of the coastal communities as we go through the evening hours with some brief, gusty winds and some showers. Temperatures, though, as hermine eventually goes back out to sea, the heat is going to rush in from the west. 90 right now in cincinnati. 90 so far today in atlanta. 93, st. Louis, memphis, dallas, 92 in wichita sa sitting at 91 degrees. Well be talking about july temperatures in september. A lack of rain yet again and a record to fall in that sevenday forecast. A dump truck flipped on its side spilling its load and tying up traffic this afternoon in one part of bucks county. Chopper 6 was overhead on route 113 at bedminster. Police say the crash had just after noon today. That truck was carrying rocks that were all over the road as a result of this. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt. But crews are still working to clear that section of route 113 even as we speak. All right. Speaking of traffic, lets get a full look of the action news traffic report right now. Matt pellman as always keeping an eye on things in the Traffic Center. And the full look is full of problems as we head back to work and back to school on this tuesday. Now as we come home, were dealing with major backups on 95, northbound side, brian and monica, you can see the travel time is 40 minutes. Ideally should be 14. And right here is the culprit. A northbound accident just out of the work zone here by cottman avenue. They have it pushed off to the side and it doesnt look like a whole lot. But for a while it was blocking two of the left lanes in the work zone. Thats why the northbound travel time on 95 is so long so slow as you come out of center city up into the great northeast this afternoon. We also had a crash here on 202, also doesnt look like much now because its gone. The northbound accident past route 29 is cleared out of the way. So northbound traffic headed toward king of prussia is moving better. But big problems elsewhere in chester county. Theres a wreck shutting down route 22 near supplely road. You want to avoid that. Pennsylvania turnpike looks pretty pretty good at this point. We just showed you the overturned dump truck that spilled the gravel in bucks county so 113 is still closed there for the cleanup. Again, new poll numbers out today show a very tight race and a changing atmosphere. Trump with 45 among likely voters. Hillary clinton with 43 support trailing right behind.
