Lets go he to meteorologist adam joseph and the shore where many people are hoping to be today and there they are adam. Envious. Kind of cruel to look at it if youre not down there. You see the bounce in the camera. You got a nice sea breeze at the shore, a few folks there kind of enjoying a september afternoon, a couple of young girls there running around having some fun throwing stand at one another and also enjoying the surf as well. In philadelphia today we hit 94 degrees. That is record tying from 1884. We smashed the record just inland from the shore in Atlantic City at the airport in pomona by 4 degrees set back in 1915. Wilmington shattered its old record by a degree and tying it in trenton at 93 degrees and so far reading a couple of degrees shy of that 94degree record. Right now its 93 philadelphia, 94 in millville, 92 in allentown but there right along the shore you see cape may at 83 and beach haven 87 degrees. Weve had so many days 90 or above this particular year and this season in philadelphia. In fact, we take a look at history and the amount of days you hit 90 or greater. This ranks sixth in history with 44 so far. Well add another here tomorrow. The top year is 55 days of 90 or better during one particular year, and that wasnt too long ago, six years ago in 2010. A front is just to the north but just couldnt make it all the way down to the south to give us a little bit of a break here today. So, as we look at the forecast for tonight it is another sultry night much like last night. Could be an isolated downpour or thunderstorm north and wedged but everyone stays in the 70s for lows. Future tracker showing 8 oclock this evening you have to go north of philadelphia to see an isolated downpour or thunderstorm. It stays dry in the city south even tomorrow 9 00 a. M. That front goes back to the north and you see all of this sunshine here. That literally will cook us during the afternoon. In fact it will be hotter tomorrow, the hottest day of the heat wave, 97 philadelphia, 95 allentown, 96 in reading and right along the shore, a little better in the upper 80s to around minute degrees but again you factor in that humidity and tomorrow those heat indices in the afternoon at 101 or better especially in philadelphia and those highly urbanized areas but as we look at that four day at 4 00 forecast tomorrow is the last day of the heat wave. Again the worst of it. Record tying around here. And then a front comes in late saturday night early sunday morning with a scattered downpour or thunderstorm but again, not everyone is going the see it. We drop into the 80s on sunday for the eagles game. As it turns less humid in the afternoon, still humid in the morning and then monday a baby blue sky, beautiful, 83. A few clouds tuesday, jumping to 86 and then were back to near 90 in the middle of next week but then a bigger change comes in at the end of the next week with that seven day. All right. Whiplash coming our way. Yeah. You got it. Adam thank you. Local students are celebrating the new school year. Well show you how.
