Reporter thats right, matt, crews have been out here all night long. The fire is under control. But they are blasting water in the hot spots there are crews outside and inside the scrap yard. The fire broke out at 10 00 p. M. On the 300 block of steel road at Simms Metal Management scrap yard. Crews from multiple companies responded they hauled in cranes, you could see them lifting the crushed burning cars and metal into the air, then fire crews blast water at them. This was a labor intensive process as they went through all the scrap and took times always firefighters worked to access the flames that were trapped under the cars, under the scraps. There was heavy smoke, the flames were very thick. This is a remote location, tanker units were brought in to help with the effort. The fire is under control, crews remain on the scene, they are looking for hot spots they continue to do their work. We have scene some crews wrap up and head off.
