Action News ReporterAnnie Mccormick is live at this murder scene along stenton avenue in the East Mount Airy section with these breaking details. Annie. Reporter just minutes ago the crime scene unit did leave and police did reopen the intersection here at stenton and at johnson street. Now, what we do know is that a 29yearold man is dead, a 27yearold man is still fighting for his life in Critical Condition at einstein hospital. Well, this is video of the scene earlier today. It was a 911 call from the einstein er that actually alerted police to the crime. One victim died at the hospital, the other remains in Critical Condition and three witnesses are talking to homicide including the person who drove the victims to the hospital. Well, at this hour police are looking at cameras on the block including some city cameras. Police say the stabbing happened outside of chai bar on stenton avenue near east johnson street sometime around 2 00 a. M. Heres what police had to say. Based on witness accounts that transported these two victims to einstein hospital, this stabbing occurred outside of a bar in the 6300 block of stenton avenue. We believe both of the victims as well as the perpetrator were all inside of this bar and thats when an argument started. Were not sure what the argument was about. The argument came outside of the bar where on stenton avenue, on the sidewalk as well as on the highway the stabbing took place. Now, again this all happened outside of the bar. At this point police say that they do not believe that the victims did know the perpetrator. The description that they are releasing at this time is a male in his 30s with a full beard. He has a thin build. Police say that he was wearing a gray and black jacket and also he may have been getting into a gray buick le sabre. The flames tour through the tavern in the tacony section at 2 30 this morning. The bar has apartments above it. Medics treated one tenant at the scene. Two other residents made it out safely. Investigators have investigating the cause. Police say a man attacked an elderly woman in her kent county home. The break in happened in milford on monday while the 91yearold woman was asleep. Police say Dustin Niebert tied her up and then stole jewelry cash and her car. Troopers located the vehicle shortly after the robbery. Further tips led them to niebert yesterday. Prosecutors rested their case after calling 26 witnesses to the stand. The latest video shows eddie routh in the back Avenue Police cruiser just after his arrest. When the officer asked if hes okay, he says ive been so paranoid schizophrenic all day, i dont know what to even make of the world right now. I dont know if im insane. Ruth rouths attorneys are attorneys are using this as his defense arguing the marine was so paranoid he felt threatened by the five assault rifles kyle and his friend chad littlefield brought to the gun range where the murders allegedly took place two years ago. The prosecutors say its all an act and that he only sales hes paranoid or acts strangely like this and lies down in a Police Cruiser when he believes people are watching but they say when he believes officers walked away from the car he sits up normally and appears relaxed. Over the next few days the defense is expected to call more members of rouths family and a slew of doctors. A building that caught fire is now the scene of tons of ice and thats putting a dangerous amount of stress on an already damaged structure. The building at 52nd and locust looks like something out of a fantasy movie. Crews hosed down the blaze on monday and the single digit temperatures made the water out of their hoses ice over. Officials worry the weight of the ice may collapse the already fragile charred structure. City inspectors say the building will have to be demolished. Patrick hannah owns the building attached to the wall of ice. If it falls, it will fall on this building. Or if they tear it down, it will fall on this building. For the time being, the roads in the immediate area will be closed and stay that way until officials feel relatively certain that the danger has passed. The train engineer and conductor were actually able to walk away. New video on action news shows a nearmiss between a transportation worker and a truck in tennessee. The man moves just in time as the vehicle crosses over an icy interstate in knoxville yesterday. The transportation worker had been responding to the scene of another crash when that truck slid out of control.
