Oppressive with the humidity all through until monday. Lets take a look at satellite6 and action radar. The clouds have really moved in. A little drizzle near pottsville but with the humidity this high and with the weak disturbance moving through we could see that at any point especially through the morning hours. At 7 00 a. M. , 76. Lots of clouds. Maybe a shower popping up. 10 00 a. M. , 80 degrees and one or two spots a shower or thunderstorm. It might be quiet for a little bit in the afternoon. By noon 85. By 3 00 p. M. , 90 but feeling like its 97. And then late in the day with the heat and humidity you get another shot, some showers and thunderstorms could be firing up here or there. By 5 oclock 88 degrees. Were live here where the schuylkill meets up with the vine street expressway and the eastbound ramp from the schuylkill to the eastbound vine has reopened. Overnight construction that shut down the vine is long gone now. Those crews certainly werent lazy, did a lot of work overnight but theyre gone now. They return tonight at 11 oclock. Still have some work though on the pennsylvania turnpike. Westbound the right and center lanes are blocked past norristown. Then we have one zone in the right lane between malvern and morgantown also a zone on the shoulder but thats not impacting us too much. Our eastbound zone in bucks county approaching bensalem has cleared so everything is reopened there. And this crash in south jersey has been cleared to the shoulder along 295 northbound at auburn pedricktown. Speeds are fine there. Overnight work along wildwood boulevard. A lane blocked near route nine for the next half hour and already one delay on septas airport line this morning. Were also expecting delays on the Paoli Thorndale line. A sixyearold girl lies in a hospital bed right now as doctors try to save her life. She was shot while playing just steps from her front door in the West Oak Lane section of the city. Action News Reporter Annie Mccormick is live at Saint Christophers Hospital for children where the girl is right now with the full story. Annie. Reporter and matt, thats right, this sixyearold girl is in Critical Condition inside of Saint Christophers Hospital after police say a stray bullet hit her under into this her left armpit. Police also say she was just playing outside of her home when the bullets did start flying. This is video from last night. Action news was there as the young victim was transferred to Saint Christophers Hospital for children from einstein hospital where medics initially took her and doctors were able to stabilize her. Now, a barrage of gunfire broke out around 7 00 p. M. In the 6300 block of north wood stock in West Oak Lane. The sixyearold was playing outside of her home when she was hit under her arm by a bullet. Investigators believe at least 21 bullets were fired from two weapons at a nearby intersection. Well, action news spoke with police and also a neighbor who ran to help the little girl who he says he saw lying in a pool of blood. We found 21 spender shell casings and they are of two separate caliber which means at least two weapons were used. Walked down here and saw the little girl on the ground bleeding and i offered the person my rag so they could apply pressure, stop the bleeding. Thats when the officers pulled up. Reporter now, investigators on the scene last night said they were working to find Surveillance Video in the area so they could review it. At this hour they only have a vague description of the shooter saying that he was wearing a white tshirt. Of course if you have any information, you are urged to contact police. Northwest detectives are the ones handling this case. This little girl again is just six years old. New this morning a man is in Critical Condition after being shot in New Castle County delaware. Gun shots rang outer on scarborough road in elsmere at 11 oclock last night. Police say the gunman shot the victim in the stomach. He is being treated at christiana hospital and police are searching for the shooter. New this morning, a septa worker collapsed on the job but rather than freeze in fear his coworkers instead pitched in to save his life. The scary incident happened at the septa trolley stop at woodlawn and bartram. Ly paramedics got to the scene to find three septa workers performing cpr on john thompson. The right place at the right time happened to know what was going on. I didnt do anything myself. It was definitely one great big group effort. The Collingdale Police chief says those septa workers likely saved thompsons life. Thompsons family says he suffered a heart attack and that hes currently in critical but stable condition. Day two of testimony begins in just a few hours in the perjury trial of Pennsylvania Attorney general kathleen kane. Prosecutors argued that the states top lawyer had a feud with chief Deputy Attorney general frank fina before he left for the Philadelphia District Attorneys Office and that that feud reportedly led her to direct staffers to leak confidential documents meant to smear fina. But kane denies signaling the media saying that the case against her is payback for her exposure of offensive emails among powerful government officials. 5 36 now. And a shower or a thunderstorm. By 10 00 a. M. , 81. Maybe in the early afternoon hours you get a little bit of a break and then with the heating of the day another chance for a storm. By 3 00 p. The trouble is this bermuda high off the coast it stays there and were talking about five days of oppressive humidity. The dewpoints over 70. So as you look at that sevenday forecast, i mean every day just about were talking about a chance for a shower or thunderstorm but its by no means raining all day. Police say one man was taken to the hospital due to the speeding car but no one appears to have been hurt in the gun play. The demonstration was to mark the second anniversary of the death of Michael Brown the unarmed black 18yearold fatally shot by a white police officer. Also new a florida woman was accidentally shot and killed by an officer during a selfdefense class. It happened yesterday during a two hour Training Session called the Citizen Police academy. The Punta Gorda Police chief say she was taking part in a role play when she was struck. All of our city leaders are absolutely devastated for everyone involved in this unimaginable event. Police say about 35 people were participating in the Training Session. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave. This is new. A maryland hospital is clearing babies out of its neonatal intensive care unit. Officials at Prince Georges County hospital say three babies tested positive for pseudomonas a bacteria that can cause a deadly infection. Experts say it is not harmful to most Healthy People but could be dangerous for those with weak immune systems like sick newborns. Two babies died recently in the unit but it not clear if theres a connection between the bacteria and those deaths. New this morning, people in New Hampshire are really playing it forward with the most popular game on the planet. Pokemon go players in concorde and manchester launched poke aid.
