A lot of these numbers close to the freezing mark, some cases a little below and as a result i want you to be careful of that melting snow from yesterday refreezing overnight and creating icy patches both on side streets and sidewalks. And again, during the afternoon hours probably after about 2 or 3 oclock well begin to see rain moving in from the west and by 6 oclock, well all be wet. Also an ozone action day has been declared for sensitive groups kids, senior citizens, those with respiratory ailments. Matt what about roads this morning. We have been saying it for a couple hours but people need to watch out for those slick spots. Were seeing one here along the schuylkill expressway eastbound side past montgomery drive. Mostly off to the eastbound shoulder. The main travel lanes are dry. If youre over on the drives like the mlk or the kelly i would also watch out for slick spots. Some of them leading to problems this morning. We have reports of icy conditions and definitely a crash right on the Warrington Horsham border along county line road at kansas road. Sounds like a fairly minor accident and penndot has been called out there to put some salt down on the road to try and alleviate that ice. In lower providence watch outer for a new crash along pawlings road at camille lane. We had an opening at the tacony palmyra bridge. They still have the traffic stopped but the bridge pretty much back down now. Traffic should be moving in just a few minutes and there was a crash that brought down a pole overnight in gloucester township camden county. Still has the black horse pike shut down at evesham road, 544 right by the Sun National Bank. Probably stick with route 30 the white horse pike or maybe atlantic avenue as some alternates. Construction on the black horse pike has wrapped up. Matt and tam. Thanks, matt. Breaking this morning flames broke out at a home in the citys manchu were mantua section. It happened on the 600 block of hut ton street at 3 00 a. M. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control fairly quickly. So far there are no reports of injuries and the fire marshal is looking for the cause. Investigators are trying to figure out why a tractortrailer was just sitting there on the tracks when an amtrak train slammed into it. Some of the passengers were headed to philadelphia. Action News Reporter john rawlins is live at 30th street station and has new overnight reaction from some of those passengers. John. Reporter good morning again, matt. Weve all seen that remarkable video of the train and the actual collision. Were now hearing from passengers who were aboard and inseed those cars. They describe being tossed about inside the rail cars. There were injuries but none of them considered lifethreatening. It was pretty crazy. We were just riding along, i was sitting in the dining car and then all of a sudden there was a huge jolt and people were thrown from their z the Woman Working behind the wound was thrown from her feet. We looked out at the side of us and there were pieces of a tractortrailer around us. It was pretty incredible. Reporter incredible indeed. Penn grad student Andrew Hudson was aboard the amtrak train. The collision he described caught on video from the outside. Oh. Reporter the heavy locomotive slicing through the stopped oversized tractortrailer near halifax north carolina. More than 50 of the 213 people aboard were taken to hospitals. Others were put on buses to washington. Then a train to philadelphia where they arrived late last night. Garrett moore was aboard returning from a college reunion. He says there was no sense of panic in the car he was riding. Everybody was very calm and very helpful too. There was a guy there who spoke spanish and a lot many people on the train who could not speak spanish. There was one guy who could speak spanish and he was very helpful, helping the emergency people. Reporter well, that very long oversized trailer was hauling a modular building at the time. It was escorted at police by police and apparently it could not navigate is a tight left turn when it was trying to cross the tracks. Whats not clear is whether or not the police were in contact with the railroad as they were crossing those tracks. It is now 6 05 and philadelphia continues to mourn Slain Police Officer Robert Wilson. More than a hundred people came out last night to pray for his family and look for solutions to stop the violence and the other senseless killings. Erin ohearn is live at the big board. Good morning. Good morning, tam. The vigil held last night was intended to honor the memory of Robert Wilson and the personal efforts he put forth to try to make philadelphia a better place. Hundreds of people including many officers gathered in front of game stop. Thats where wilson was gunned down. Police commissioner Charles Ramsey was also there. He came straight from a Birthday Party for officer wilsons oldest son who turned 10 years old yesterday. The Group Released 22 blue and white balloons in honor of officer wilson and his brothers and sisters in uniform at the 22nd district where he worked. The gathering was not just about honoring the fallen officer. It sparked a profound discussion about violence in black neighborhoods. Community leaders urged everyone to take a stand against the culture of violence. I want to say we got a problem yall went got to come together and recognize it. Our lives matter. And it doesnt make a difference whether its a citizen, if its a Law Enforcement officer that life matters especially when you got a good cop. No funeral arrangements for officer wilson have been officially announced yet. Of course when we get word of those services well bring them to you. Tam, back to you. Thank you erin. A philadelphia jury convicted Padge Victoria Windslowe of third degree murder. A british dancer died after windslowe injection her buttocks with industrial grade silicone at an Airport Hotel four years ago. Windslowe could receive 70 years behind bars at her june sentencing. Fallout continues at the university of oklahoma where video of a racist chant sung by a fraternity surfaced online. The video of Sigma Alpha Epsilon members was recorded over the weekend. The brothers are heard chanting that an africanamerican would never be admitted to the fraternity. Oklahomas president called the behavior disgraceful and shut down sae. I hope they i dont have much sympathy for them. Theyll have to find a place a roof over their heads. We dont plan to help them. Id be happy if they left. The members have until midnight to move out of the house and could face expulsion. The sae letters have already come down. Surveillance video shows a violent brawl at a chucky cheese of all places in parma ohio. It happened on sunday. Employees say this all started with a woman and a large Birthday Party.
