section was ambushed by a gunman. Police say the shooter jumped into a getaway van with a child inside who may have witnessed the whole awful scene. Annie mccormick is live at northwest detectives, she picks up the story, good morning, annie. Reporter good morning, tam, they want to track down the shooter, not because they believe he shot a man several times in the
West Oak Lane
section, because the vehicle that he was seen jumping into, had a child inside the vehicle and a woman behind the wheel. They are looking for them at this hour. This is video of the scene in the 7200 block of forest avenue in
West Oak Lane
. 911 calls came in around 9 30 when officers arrived they found the victim down the street on ogontz avenue. It looked like he ran even after he was shot multiple times. He was rushed to einstein and brought into surgery. Detectives think the victim was getting into his vehicle when he was targeted. Take a listen. All nine shell casings are inches or feet away from the vehicle that the victim was entering or exiting when he was shot. We found all nine spent shell casings by the driver door which is an indication that the shooter walked right up on the victim and from point blanc range fired at least 9 shots. Reporter and that victim was hit at least three times. At last check he was in the hospital. He did undergo surgery. We do not have a condition at this time. Northwest detectives are handling this case. They are concerned about the child that was seen in the vehicle that the shooter was getting into it if you have any information you are urged to contact police.
