We all woke up and matthew is looking a little better for us. It is for us, yeah. Probably a little worse for florida but better for us. Were off to a tranquil start across the region. As we take a look outside there are some low clouds around but those are going to break up pretty quickly and we should transition to at least partly sunny skies today. The Commodore Barry bridge almost looks like the sky is getting a little bit brighter over the top of the bridge but in philadelphia there are a fair amount of low clouds early on. Temperatures are cool out the door. 56 degrees currently in philadelphia, 57 in wilmington, 54 in trenton, 54 in allentown, 55 in reading, 56 in millville and 60 in cape may. Satellite shows you some low lying cloud cover here and there. Some of that cloud cover this morning it will break up and we will wind up partly sunny. Up in the Lehigh Valley well call it partly sunny and pleasant this afternoon with a high around 71 similar to yesterdays high. At the shore stuck in the mid 60s today under partly sunny skies. Again some clouds possible early but we should transition to that partly sunny skies sky cover pretty quickly. In philadelphia we end up partly sunny and pleasant with a high of 71. Winds today about seven to 14 Miles Per Hour which i would describe as kind of a light comfortable breeze. 52 is the overnight low. Gets kind of cool and there could be another chance of fog developing overnight. We were looking for that this morning and we havent really seen it but the winds could be light enough where it forms tomorrow so in the morning maybe thats an issue. On to Hurricane Matthew we go and storm has dropped to category three. It had been a four but it weakened a little bit as it came across the high mountains and land mass of eastern cuba. Does expect though to go back to a category four as it plows up through the bahamas over the next couple of days and its position on thursday afternoon is probably over the northern bahamas and not all that far away from florida. It does look like it passes close to the Florida East Coast as a category four before dropping to a two off georgia. So, all of those evacuation plans and preparations that theyre doing in florida definitely warranted as that storm is going to be close to the coast with 110 Miles Per Hour central core winds. Heres the change though. And this is just come in from the National Hurricane center over the last hour or so. It does look like in the latest track that this storm no longer makes landfall along the carolinas. It actually bends the path straight out to sea well below us and this is the first forecast from the Hurricane Center in the last several days where the cone of uncertainty for this storm doesnt include us. If this holds things are going look a lot better around here for the weekend. Spaghetti plot models pretty much with the same idea since last night. That latest track that just came in a little while ago is the best weve seen for us. We have Tropical Storm nicole out there. Looks like its going to get blocked from heading toward the west by matthew in the initial forecast. But early next week it could tart to cull back toward bermuda. Well keep an eye on nicole. Your sevenday forecast from accuweather today nice 71. Tomorrow beautiful 75. Friday nice 73. Mostly cloudy on saturday but if we get some rain it wont be from a hurricane, it will be from a cold front coming in from the west. A high of 70. Some models keep us dry but probably fairly cloudy. Then that front gets out on sunday and assuming matthew stays down to the south 67 degrees and dry and staying in the mid to upper 60s on monday and tuesday.
